Houston Dems face-down Bush 41!

Hi All,
Well the early voting kickoff at 1475 West Gray this morning was fabulous in 2 big ways:

First, about 30-plus of us rallied together at 1707 West Gray at 7:30AM and walked over to the voting location lead by Democratic Party Chair, Gerry Birnberg. We cast our votes for John Kerry & John Edwards and all of our great Democratic candidates, many of whom were at the rally. What a great feeling!

Second, we put a kink the Republican Party's plan to have a big press conference with Babs & Bush 41. The Bushes showed up to vote as announced around 10:00AM. While they were inside waiting in line to vote, the Repugs set up a podium and about 20 folks carrying Bush/Cheney signs assembled in semicircle waiting for their press conference!!!!!

Well not on our watch!

There were about 20 or so of us Kerry supporters and Dem candidates in their Repug faces, with our signs, watching their every move. It seems they decided the press conference wasn't such a good idea! Instead Babs & 41 were wisked back into their waiting SUVs and drove off.

They chanted "4 more years" and we chanted "Kerry! Kerry! Kerry!" It was the most fun I've had in months!!!!!

Let's make a deal out of this. Every chance we get, we need to blog "Did George & Barbara vote?" "I didn't see George & Barbara vote. I would have thought there'd have been a press conference." Keep making it a big, big deal until it catches Olbermann's eye. This is just his kind of story!
