Ongoing Prediction: $2+ gas on election day= Kerry landslide
Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 12:47 AM by JCMach1
That final hit to pocket may be the absolute nail in the coffin.

Chimpies approval has almost alwasy tracked the price of oil and gas...

Should we be shocked?

If it is lower than $2, it will be much closer...
=================================================

Gasoline prices again average more than $2 a gallon across the USA, the first time they've passed that line since early June, and are only pennies lower than last spring's records.

A gallon of unleaded regular averages $2.035, the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported in its weekly price survey Monday. That's up 4.2 cents from last week, and 2.9 cents less than EIA's record $2.064 May 24. EIA last showed gas averaging more than $2 June 7....{{link http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/energy/2004-10-18-gas_x.htm?POE=NEWISVA MORE}}

2. They seem to suppressing the price somewhat
It appeared to peak late last week and is falling again, hard to explain why, since the price of crude just dropped very slightly today for the first time in weeks.

4. It's already over $2 here
How about we fine the Saudis for 15 of 19 hijackers coming from their country, and us not auditing their books to find out who financed all this fundamentalist crap... let the fine be oil... lots and lots of free oil.

Heh.

5. average about $2.04 in Orlando
Depends on the area here I suppose, for a couple of weeks after the last hurricane it was averaging about 1.95, last week 2.00, i saw one place that was 2.08.

I agree it could be a good thing, especially in a swing state such as Florida for the prices to go up just a bit more through the beginning of November.

I am wondering though if an ace up Bush's sleeve might be hitting the national reserve for fuel as he said he wouldn't do, but hey, if it wins him votes, what the hell?

6. I'm rooting for $4 gas
And I'm pissed that the price of crude went down Monday. Temporarily I want surging gas and a plunging stock market.

Average is about $2.27 in Las Vegas, up almost 20 cents in a month. One day prior to the Iraqi war, it was $1.29.

I wish Kerry would use a specific example like that, and how it swallows virtually all the Bush tax cut for average Americans. Unless he's afraid of that old 50 cent tax proposal being brought up.

10. I'm paying $2,.20 a gallon for diesel
and so are the truckers. The costs of shipping has to be going through the roof. I'm glad I'm not heating my house, yet. Even though I have electric heat, the electric companies are sure to be adding fuel surcharges. It's going to be a cold winter, inside and out.

11. $1.85 or more for regular
here in Houston. That may be a low price for where you are, but it is astronomical for the land of oil and gas. Just think, every time that undecided voter fills his or her gas tank, they get to think about the domestic policies of the last 4 years. Those high prices are a good thing!

12. Well, then, Kerry carries Indiana!
$2.08 to $1.98 here in my area.
and that's for the cheap shit.
Diesel is higher.

And given that there hasn't been a vehicle built in 20 years that needs 90-Octane, if you buy the $2.20 high-test, you're a moron and deserve to get fucked in the wallet. "But my car runs better!"
Sure, and when you bought that $90 speaker wire for your stereo, you "believed you could hear a difference", too....

15. i figured it out that we pay about $240 a month in gasoline...
just for cars..not to mention the heating bill about to come our way....it definately keeps us from going out and spending money on anything extra...its a big problem for us at this point..I am so concious of driving that I try to get all my stuff done and then just lay low...we are middle class..but i see it getting harder and harder to make ends meet with stuff like this...

I can't believe this isn't that big of an issue...gasoline has been about $2.10 a gallon for 3 weeks
