French Flu Vaccine

npincus posted an interesting article that stated France had extra Flu Vaccince available. We know Bush would never allow the importation of it, but what if he did?

1. Being the hypocrits they are a republican would ...

get the vaccine but block anyone else from getting it. After all their motto is, "I got mine screw everybody else."

2. The vaccines people are getting ARE French...

they come from Aventis Pasteur. The questions is whether Aventis has extra capacity to supply additional doses above the 50 million or so already supplied to the US.

...so if we DECIDE to share OUR vaccine with YOU, which we DON'T HAVE TO DO, BUT PROBABLY WILL BECAUSE WE'RE NICE PEOPLE... sorry, being obnoxious here...

...it'll be French-made vaccine. France will save the US once again! But this time, they'll need Canada's help!

5. Aventis and ID Biomedical...

It appears it's the ID Biomedical of Vancouver has an extra 1.2 million doses. From what I've read, that's the only extra capacity we've got to share with the US.

3. French Vaccines----Non!

I received and email this morning from 2 American friends in Paris. They said to let Americans know that they were able to walk into a pharmacy and bought 2 self-injecting flu vaccines for $8 for both. The American people should know that the corrupt and greedy repugs have exposed them to what could be a serious public health problem.
