FLA voting probs only a minor issue according to NPR |
|
The NPR host was not quoting a Florida Republican.
The NPR host was not interviewing a partisan hack.
The NPR host was not doing an opinion piece.
Yet, the Morning Edition host introduces the 'news' story regarding the inability of local precincts to verify voter registration by categorically defining the scope of the problem as only minor. Though, some of you may have notice that she nearly choked on the word as she said it.
People were turned away from the ballot box in areas with large majorities of Democrats, and given the history of the last Presidential election (maybe we were supposed to forget), denying people who are present, legally registered, and ready to vote an opportunity to exercise their civic duty is no MINOR issue.
What has happened to NPR??

2. I have n't heard NPR report. But, how could she argue it was minor? |
|
Are there any numbers we could use to determine if it was minor or not ? I mean, HOW many people could NOT vote??

4. That's the contract bt the Intro and the story told by NPR correspondent |
|
on the ground in Florida.
So, she summarizes the story as a minor problem, then introduces the NPR correspondent on the ground who reports about the various issues with the database, etc.
The only thing 'minor' that might be garnered from the story is that State Officials in FLA have two weeks to remedy this issues.
Whether or not voters who are turned away will bother to return to the polls if and when the 'minor issues' are resolved is the more daunting question for me. A point that was completely rolled over.
Fact is: once again FLA was NOT ready when the polling places were open, and there is NO DISCUSSION of accountability.
Conservative?

3. It's not NPR anymore, it's NRR, National Republican Radio. |
|
Quit listening a long time ago when I got real tire of hearing all their support of the current regime.
