Suffolk Poll shows Kerry ahead in N.H.

Tuesday, October 19, 2004

BOSTON (AP) — A new poll shows Democrat John Kerry leading President Bush in New Hampshire.

The Suffolk University poll released Monday showed Kerry leading the Republican incumbent 46 percent to 41 percent, with Ralph Nader at 1 percent.

Despite Kerry’s lead, the respondents believe Bush will be the next president with 46 percent choosing Bush and 38 percent feeling Kerry would be victorious.

The poll of 400 likely New Hampshire voters, conducted by telephone between Oct. 14 and 17, had a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.

3. It is odd that the perception
is that Bush will win it, despite more support for Kerry. I hate that the perception is out there.

4. My theory about this perception is
the powerlessness and helplessness that we all felt after the selection in 2000, it has a mental effect. People, subconciously or conciously feel pessimistic that it could actually happen. Look at the press, the powerful right wing smear machine. It's a mental war.

5. And it helps us

As long as the "perception" is not overwhelming -- obviously what the media wants to create, but merely strong, it is a disincentive for Bushites to bother voting, and an incentive to our troops to get out there and make a difference. We need it to be close, but for people to be worked up and MOTIVATED. I think this "backing a winner" bullshit is overrated. If Bush were up 10 percent in a range of national polls, it might discourage our voters, but in a statistical dead heat, I'd rather have the other side cocky and confident and relaxed.

And just think how much sweeter it will be on election day to watch those stunned faces of all those shills and robots who assume KKKarl Rove cannot lose an election, that Shrub is God's messenger on earth, and that they own the damn country. Step one in the process of slapping some sense into the American mind: shock treatment.

13. Perception caused by the trumpeting of national polls
Once the realization is out there that he is probably leading electorally, that perception will change.

7. No suprise
Chimps favorite line "Liberal from Mass" can't be going over well in a fellow New England state. Since he tries to make it seem like being from their is a disease. Kerry will probably win the state of NH by 7-8 points

9. the telling number is only 41% for the incumbent president
that is very poor. Kerry will win 53-54 percent in NH.
