1. I want photographs and signed affidavits.
Any student who sells his vote deserves to be drafted first.

6. IIRC, that is very illegal
I remember the RWers getting all up in arms because MM was offering free underwear for college students who promised to vote, saying it was illegal to pay people or give them gifts to get them to vote for somebody. MM's defense was that he just wanted the students to vote; he wasn't instructing them to specifically vote for Kerry.

Now, we have Repubs offering $100 to vote for a specific candidate. By their own admission, this is very illegal.

You should send the original e-mail to Moore.

8. Send this problem to the new ABC 2004 watchdog group
politicalunit@abcnews.com. From today's ABC the Note:
------------------------
So we're seeking YOUR help — and by "you" we mean citizens, journalists, activists, party officials and consultants, election administrators, and interested observers.

ABC News is kicking off our 2004 Watchdog project today, and The Note — and Noted Now — will be its canvass. Between now and Election Day, look for regular reports on all ABC News programs.

If you want to help, or if you're concerned, all it takes is an e-mail to The ABC News Political Unit: politicalunit@abcnews.com .

You might encounter problems or issues with the mechanics of casting and tabulating your ballot, from rules about absentee votes and voter IDs, to problems with electronic machines in your county, to poll workers who don't know the law.

As we said, we're especially interested this year in the mechanics of voting ("casting and counting") and voter contact. We're looking for any type of communication — be it from a neighbor, a radio ad, a flyer, a billboard, a county elections official, police officer, a secretary of state — that confuses voters or seems suspect.

To submit material to our casting and counting watchdog corps, just e-mail us — politicalunit@abcnews.com .

You can and should start writing us right now — and all the way through Election Day

13. Also in Florida
Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 10:33 AM by Peachhead22
One of the news channels (MSNBC, I think) had a story this A.M. about early voting in Florida. A bunch of college-aged kids set up some tents and camped out outside a polling place so they could get in bright and early "to show how eager they are to vote for Bush" (i.e.-an organized campaign stunt).

The reporter went on to say "they were paid for their time".

14. I strongly urge anyone with viable information about voter fraud...
to e-mail their State Atty General's Office. You can find the addy under your particular state's website.

I would also strongly suggest that your information includes names and places of where you believe voter fraud is being perpetrated. DO NOT e-mail theories and innuendos, it bogs down the system, and those instances that involve true voter fraud may be overlooked.

Voter Fraud is a State, as well as a Federal crime, and those that are involved should be prosecuted. To ensure that this happens, PLEASE make sure your information is as correct as possible, and you have substantial reason to believe that voter fraud is in progress. This is one of the ways we can combat this properly.

I also ask that preposterous theories about Voter Fraud, and how it is being perpetrated, be excluded from threads that pertain to Voter Fraud. This is a VERY serious issue, and is easily clouded by unsubstantiated rumors. While anything is possible, please, think about what you are posting.

Once again, I urge you contact your State's Atty's Gen's Office with complaints of Voter Fraud.

Thank you for reading this and combating Voter Fraud!....:)

17. This is far worse than giving underware out
The repugs attacked Michael Moore for offering to give underwear out just to register and promise to vote. He did not condition the gift on which way they were suppose to vote.

If this is true, then we need to get it investigated and prosecuted.
