CIA Withholding Damning 9/11 Report
http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-scheer19oct19,1,6540113.column?coll=la-home-utilities

Apparently, this report names names, and blames specific "senior Bush officials" for their screw-ups.

That may explain why it's being withheld and stonewalled until after the election. Democrats (not necessarily Kerry) need to push this issue. Forget Sinclair, get this damn report released before the election!

3. Clearly, the CIA is not withholding the info
They've just leaked it. It is the administration that is withholding the release.

Expect more CIA leaks in the next couple of weeks. They are pissed as hell at the chimp.

23. That was their sentiment before the Iraq invasion.
The CIA had been left holding the bag after failures to get bin Laden in the 90s (with the Pentagon sharing blame) and the CIA had helped to encourage Kurdish and Shiite uprisings against Saddam which went unsupported by the U.S. The Kurds and Shiites would not assist the U.S. in this latest war if it was going to be for all the marbles.

5. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it "accidentally" becomes public.
The CIA is not pleased with the Bush administration.

6. This article infuriates me on a number of levels
Especially the one in which Bush misleads the American public that "Congress saw the very same intelligence information that we saw when we made the decision to go to war with Iraq.

Articles like this just disprove that whole concept. I cannot stand this evil lying Administration a single day longer.

not just the fact that there is a report being sat on...lets hope someone in the CIA has conscience enough to do it....this would be a BOMB.

28. Now is not the time to leak it
October 28 is the day to leak it. It is the last Thursday before the election.

I would say October 29, but that's Friday--the day Bush makes his dumps of bad news because they know no one listens on that day.

November 1 wouldn't be bad except that it doesn't give the report the proper time to propagate through the electorate.

If the CIA leaks the report on October 28, you've got Friday morning for it to hit the papers, all the media whores will be on it Sunday, it will still be fresh Monday morning.

33. I disagree- it's going to take at least a week to get the ball rolling
If this gets revealed on October 28th half the population won't hear about it until 3 weeks after the election.

It is shocking: The Bush administration is suppressing a CIA report on 9/11 until after the election, and this one names names. Although the report by the inspector general's office of the CIA was completed in June, it has not been made available to the congressional intelligence committees that mandated the study almost two years ago.

He's the guy who leaked the Pentagon Papers to the press and blew the lid off of the Vietnam War.

19. Let's All Stop For a Moment, and Pray for a Leak
I'm not generally big on prayer, but I think this is an excellent time to pray that this CIA Report gets "leaked" in the next few days.

It should be leaked long enough before the election to give the media adequate time to go into a full force feeding frenzy, but not in enough time for Bush's spinners to respond before Election Day.

The praying is fine but I also think we need to RAISE HELL and the Kerry campaign needs to site and hammer on this LA Times article until Bush is forced into having to comment on it.

27. My take on this article is that the CIA is hoping for a public outcry
now that the LA Times has told us such a report does indeed exist AND that the B*sh administration is suppressing it. The Agency wants the added impact of both public indignation over the withholding of such a report followed by public pressure on the B*sh admin. to release it. Then, when the report is released, the anticipation level is overwhelming and the gates of fire will be opened for those named in the report.

Much more impact that way.

34. The problem is that this is an editorial,
or at least written by a editorial writer. Robert Scheer in my opinion has been tuned in to this cabal even before * got selected. If on the other hand he has some inside info I believe this could be the beginning of the end for this administration. But be aware that Scheer is loved by progressives and hated by right wing kooks.
