He looks like he's going from the first phase of liver damage - with the flushed cheeks and nose - and into the second phase - with the yellowing and drying of the skin.
Anyone who's been on a drunk - just one or two in college, even - can tell you that drinking is VERY dehydrating and bad for the skin.
Bush needs to learn the water-flush if he's going to keep this shit up. Drink one 8 oz glass of water for every beer and/or shot of liquor. It reduces brain-swelling and keeps the skin and organs hydrated.
Of course, this makes absolute sense, so he won't listen to me! :P

On a more serious note: yes... he really looks very ill. Kerry is older and has some drawing to his face with age and campaign fatigue, but he doesn't look like a giant SCAB!

Macho-man thinks that "it has to hurt to be a proper shave" -- so he scrapes away with warm water and a dull razor. I've lost count of how many times he's appeared with stray whiskers or an unshaven neck. And that's not helping his skin much either. Between the sun and the bad shaves, it's a wonder he has any epidermis left. Not surprising that his pretzel bruise (more than 2 and a half years ago) is still showing!
