Kerry 2 pts Ahead in Ohio!
I smell a landslide. I'm an eternal, infernal pessimist and even *I've* been detecting one for a few days now.

Of course the Rovian moon has not yet risen either, but my feeling has been Kerry in a landslide. So much so, that even if bu$hit did contest a few close states - Kerry'd still win, and so bu$hit won't need to bother. One of those is likely to be Ohio.

Tomorrow, my attitude may be different, but the last day or so...it's been Kerry in a landslide. I'm STILL doing GOTV and taking election day off to watch at my polling place, even though I already voted.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- A poll out today puts the presidential race in

Ohio at a statistical dead heat.

The University of Cincinnati's Ohio Poll of likely voters found

48 percent backing Democrat John Kerry to 46 percent for President

Bush. The remaining six percent say they'll back someone else or

are undecided.

The spread between Kerry and Bush is within the poll's four

percent margin of error.

The telephone poll of 757 likely voters was taken last week.

Previous statewide polls had given Bush the lead in Ohio and the

last Ohio Poll in September gave Bush an eleven-point lead, but

those were taken before the debates between the candidates started.

6. I hope we're all freakin...
...right! I cannot fathom what I'd do if bu$hit is appointed King again. It makes me sick to even think about it. This country is on the brink of not being this country anymore if that a**hole cheats his way in again (he won't win - he can't - nothing to win on, sorry record, bad policy, lies).

I'm certainly no Pollyanna but it's just been my gut feeling lately. For me, that is very unusual. Maybe the thought of another 4 years of *resident asshole duJour is just too much for me to consider and that's what it is, dunno.

3. Keep in mind...
...That since undecideds usually fall 2-for-1 in favor of the challenger, this could be really good news. Still being cautious, but- good news. I've said since the beginning of the year, that Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania will decide this election- whoever wins 2 out of the 3 wins it. Pennsylvania's looking good for us now, if Ohio goes to us- it's all over, start packing your bags Bushie boy.

4. I well remember the September poll
Edited on Tue Oct-19-04 03:05 PM by featherman
and dismissing it as an outlier and the pollsters as lunatics and out-of-touch incompetents.
Now that they show Kerry in the lead, however, I consider them brilliant, incisive, and with an accurate finger on the pulse of the people.
Hmmm...funny how that works, ain't it?

7. in reality, polls are not reliable...
...they make us feel better but not reliable. in 2000, they had bu$hit way ahead of Gore and Gore won...so there ya go.

I STILL got the gut feeling though (landslide - Kerry). It may disappear in the next 10 minutes but it's there, meanwhile.

8. It's a 5 point swing pro-Bush to leave Cheney's name out of the question
Also the pre-question to remind - or force via being polite - a statement that the voter "likes" Bush - is effective for about a point.

Fox does do a good job!

The polling org - Opinion Dyn. is actually a good professional org.

The trickery is all Fox - not theirs.

:-)

11. The way I see it is that Kerry, in reality,
will win by a landslide. But due to the Rovian tactics, voter fraud, etc. the final count will be "close" with Kerry still winning. That's what I think.

12. Since Kerry's lead in Ohio corresponds to Bush's lead nationally
are you prepared to say that Bush will win the national popular vote in a landslide?

Sorry, but a two point lead within the margin of error doesn't automatically translate into a landslide. I think Kerry may be slightly up, but I suspect that winning margin is likely to be pretty narrow regardless of which candidate ends up ahead.

13. Our GOTV efforts are going to kick their ass
They're heads are going to spin so fast, they won't know what hit them. They'll all be turning to Jeb to pull another rabbit out of his hat, before they even realize that the election is too far out of reach for them.
