6. Sounds like Gallup, doesn't it?

If they have Bush's approval at 54 percent, they have way too many Repukes in their LV sample.

No other poll out today has Bush with more than 48 percent of the vote. 51 percent? No effing way.

4. Out of touch inside the beltway
DC feeds upon itself, and really does think of itself as the center of the universe. I wouldn't give this poll heavy weight, especially given how the rest of the US is polling.

7. This poll was the same way in 2000 with Bush* v Gore
As I posted in LBN, I followed this poll a lot in 2000, and it always had Bush* up by at least 4-5 points every day in October. Don't worry about this poll.

8. weekend numbers...

this poll was Sat, Sun, and Mon. Polls done on Sat and Sun tend to favor Rethugs...

i suspect things will look "normal" on Thurs/Fri.

10. Usually conventional wisdom goes the other way around
and people claim that weekend polls favor Democrats. Or at least that is one of the poll myths I have always heard.

That being said, it looks WaPo is moving in different directions that all the other tracking polls out there.
