Can we Boycott NASCAR SPONSORS |
|
Bush's campaign announced in a statement that it would launch a campaign tour focused on hugely popular NASCAR automobile racing, with some well-known drivers touring the battleground states of Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

There are far more NASCAR fans that would be pissed at a sponsor pulling sponsorship over a boycott related to NASCAR than there are people who would boycott a NASCAR sponsor over some Bush endorsements from drivers and commentators of NASCAR.

3. Agreed, Nascar is huge in south & midwest |
|
Any talk of a boycott would probably do more harm than good....but maybe after the election.

2. Not ALL Nascar drivers/owners |

are campaigning for Dubya. If, say, Arnold Palmer were to endorse Bush, should we then boycott all golfers, Titleist, etc.?

I'd rather be on the side of letting people endorse who they feel like endorsing. The Linda Ronstadt-Dixie Chicks treatment really bothered me as being un-American.
The Sinclair controversy is different because they are forcing their affiliates to air propaganda over public airwaves that are regulated.

7. I think it's a dumb idea, sorry. Concentrate on Sinclair and keeping |
|
the media honest.
It's enough to do.

It is not illegal. I don't even get your point. You can't boycott everybody that supports ****. Drivers are people, too.

How many Nascar drivers were made fun of in Team America?
How many right wing talk show hosts did those Republicans Stone and Parker make fun of?
The Republicans are nothing if not hypocrites.
