I wonder if anyone knows who sponsored the "Don't Vote" billboards run on Clear Channel-owned boardspace in Minneapolis?
Here's one article, but I don't have the original DU thread. Lee Ann Muller of Clear Channel indicated the source would be revealed October 11...
Just checking to see if anyone has an update.
Update: I spoke with the Clear Channel Outdoors executive, and she explained the KDWB reference. She said they revealed the source early, as both candidates were scheduled to be in the Twin Cities area before the Oct. 11 date. Demographically, the ad targeted young listeners; apparently, there's a history of young listeners writing in the name of their choosing (often times, morning DJ Dave Ryan).
She further explained that Minnesota allows voters to register even on election day (can anyone confirm?)... She lamented the furor over the geographic/demographic locations of some billboards, and offered to move them, as they were not ethnically targeted.
KDWB has more info on the ad.
