Cheer up about the "Sinclair thing"
If the info here tonight is accurate, this presentation is now going to come down on Friday night. Besides the fact that no one will watch except the Bush choir, it means the spin peters out over the weekend (people in my state and in Sinclair affilate are at high school football games, out to eat and watching college and pro football during this time period). I wasn't as much afraid of the broadcast as asses on these cable networks trying to jive this into "new allegations arise about Kerry's military service" crap into 24/7 news. It means the after-spin will fall on the weekend when no one is listening and will be well on it's way to the media dustbin by Monday.

1. no matter what airs the spinners will be barfing it up come Monday
the hype-following news will make a huge deal.

Maybe we should pre-empt the media?

2. O'Neill's Been Debunked Once
Others are chomping at a shot at him. These assholes had their 15 minutes and are totally discredited.

The winds are blowing differently now than they were in August. Those who hold this shit against Kerry were long hopeless causes...this is a vain attempt to keep the kool-aid drinkers in these swing states from thinking Nader or liberatarian or just staying home.

If O'Neill shows that bad toupee on any major cable show outside Faux or Scarborough, he'll run into the Koppel buzzsaw.

Plus right now this regime needs something that scares or depresses more people.

Sinclair is paying for this; facing a stockholder lawsuits and financial ruin. Let 'em dig themselves a complete hole.

3. In fact, this is just a fluffing out of that one swiftboat ad where these
poor sweethearts say they were torturned because of Kerry (no one in the world knew who the hell John Kerry was back then. He wasn't a national figure so it's so bogus). So, these ads have been seen all over the battleground states and the stats in the polls are what they are despite them. With ads, the people are kinda forced to watch while listening to their favorite program. With this, they have to actually dial in. Except the Limbaugh mentally challenged, who else is going to bother.

4. RE: poor sweethearts
It's always easier to attack one of your own than the big guys who really are to blame for your fate.

6. Whose Being Forced?
This story is "like August". I had heard this thing features someone pissing on a flag and was way over the top in accusing Kerry of aiding and abeting the VN.

First, those of us, including many veterans, remember those days and we know this isn't how things were and to continue to insult us is to get us angrier. I know of several Vietnam veterans who will be voting for Kerry because of the lies and slanders this group has brought out as well as long hidden personal torments.

If this issue were getting traction, there's be Slimeboat ads...which are FAR more effective...quick hits, than a full-blown TV deal. Just think Ross Perot & his pie charts. How many people watched him?

Cheers!
