Kerry is now competitive in red states that aren't even considered battlegrounds!

we are going to see a big surprise in at least one state on election night ... VA and NC are the two to watch.
MO, AR, CO, WV ... won't be as much of a surprise, but I also think that at least one of those states will go to Kerry.

5. You've made my day by posting this link!!! |

I've been working for weeks in Northern VA where, according to the Survey USA poll, Kerry's leading by 13%!! We're extremely motivated, have tons of well organized volunteers, and are pounding the pavement hard.
NoVA is probably the most populated areas of the state. If we get our people to the polls, then hello surprise and goodbye Bush!!

is probably not the best way to learn politics. Bounce and comeback bely the fact that the untouchable topic of the horrible Bush record and campaign and voter outreach and...on and on have set tremendous forces in motion. Negative for Bush, large unstoppable momentum for Democrats. Add to that the steel in the soul of John Kerry and this election was a foregone conclusion- NOT a horse race based on ephemeral selected opinions that were very much over determined and skewed in interpretation if not faulty sampling.
We still listen too much to polls. So much they can be somewhat self-fulfilling(as they intend to be in order to sell THEMSELVES as pulse predictors) and wise(as the media are who can't even get a science story straight because of naive and dedicated ignorance). We are afraid because of the muddled mess they create in the national mood and forums.
The reality is a Kerry/Democratic victory, GOP desperation and denial, and stubborn refusal to provide quality service to the majority of Americans. Rove? Answer: the debates. Bush's great popularity?Answer: the debates. Reality bites. The donkey kicks. The elephant trumpets and craps.

--my two kids' votes for Kerry! They're first-time voters and they're voting straight Dem ticket (I'm so proud!) They've told me that kids at the UVa and Va Tech campuses have registered in droves to vote against Bush.
