Virgina: Dems plan lawyer blitz at polls; GOP says effort is fabrication

RICHMOND, Va. Democrats plan to post hundreds of lawyers outside polling places across Virginia on Election Day.
A news release says Democrats already have about 500 volunteer lawyers and are recruiting more to protect voters from what they call a Republican effort to scare people away from the polls.

Republicans contend it's a Democratic effort to fabricate charges of minority voter intimidation.

Virginia Democrats announced their effort as the party readies a national full-court press against possible voting irregularities like those that left the 2000 presidential race in limbo for 36 days. A U-S Supreme Court ruling ended Florida's troubled recount and made President Bush the winner.

Republicans are also assembling legal teams to look after their interests in the election, but have NOT announced any similar effort.

The Dems and other groups are expecting some real trouble.

The numbers of lawyers donating their time on Nov. 3 and beyond would astonish people.

Yes, damn TRIAL LAWYERS are DONATING their time for civil rights and democracy, and they are ready to attack any problem that rears its ugly head.

No wonder the "others" hate them so.
