I voted for Kerry today
Not to mention Feingold and Bryan Kennedy. Woo hoo! It was easy in my little town of New Berlin, WI. No line at all.

I asked them how busy it had been so far. They said they were up to about 1000 absentee ballots so far, which was their grand total in all of 2000. The office workers were busy sending out absentee ballots as I spoke to them. Of course the fact that we don't need a reason to absentee vote helps a lot. I've been reminding my New Berlin friends that they can do this too (only my DEM friends, of course).

Now I will be free to GOTV on Nov. 2. :D

2. Awesome!
People tend to forget how important the importance and closeness of IA, WI, and NM last time.

Even if Kerry wins all the Gore states + NH and OH, he can't win unless he takes either WI, OR IA AND NM (Gore won it by a whole 366 votes!). Of course I'd like to see Kerry take them all, and FL as well.

So it's great that you're working on the GOTV!

3. Pardon my asking.. but how does WI look now?
I know that a recent poll or two put Kerry barely up, and that others have had him down.. what's your gut feeling on it?

6. It feels like we're more organized
We're going to work like hell to protect the vote. We have a Democrat Governor and Mayor looking out for us. I'm seeing more Kerry signs in Freeperland (the suburbs where I live) but not a ton.

Driving by the Union offices that the GOTV is using as a hub, I saw tons of Kerry signs. Did my heart good.

I'm just getting involved in the predictive phone bank now. We called Green Bay on Monday. There was a decent amount of Kerry support there. (apparently they didn't care that much about the "Lambert" comment.)

I think it's winnable. But we have GOT to get the vote out in Milwaukee. That's why I'm displacing myself out of my suburban community. I'll be a "floater" in Milwaukee. As goes Milwaukee, so goes Wisconsin, usually.

Campaign HQ is a-buzzin' with activity. Everyone who comes in is quite motivated. We have several Kerry-travelers around, helping us out from DC and California and other Blue areas. One of my freeper friends hates that. "What are they doing meddling around in MY communities vote!?" he asked. I just thought it was a great way for solid Red and Blue people to get involved. Geez.

The phone banks on a Monday night were quite full, I thought. Our new phone stations can do the work of 10 normal phones. It's kind of cool.

4. Fantastic......I just voted today as well.
New Mexico was packed with voters, many elderly, many Hispanic, and many with Kerry/Edwards buttons. I am totally stoked!!!!

5. Welcome to DU! Wow! Your first post!!!!!!!!
:hi:

Let's hope WI and NM go blue again! :)

In response to above question: I think WI looks really good for Kerry! I've been supplying people with Kerry buttons, and they're calling me back for more! (This in the Green Bay area - which, I guess, has been republican...doesn't look like it this year!)

7. Like I said, we called there on Monday
No, not Republican at all, at least not solidly.

Even in my Freeper area, my church people are putting up signs. One senior said it felt like we were in a fight to keep our democracy. She was quite upset. I gave her a "Christian for Kerry" button.
