3. There are SO many reasons...................... |
|
that Gallup's methodology is flawed, but this is one I'd never thought of. Suffice to say, the only people who believe Gallup are people too stupid to study their methods. This comprises approximately 99% of the voting public. The true test will come on November 2. Until then all the polls in the world, pro OR anti Kerry are meaningless. I grow so weary of all this poll watching. They really don't give anyone insight into what's going to happen. They only succeed in muddying up the minds of those who read and believe them.

If the election is won by Bush by 532 votes, no one can go back to Gallup and say that they disenfranchised thousands that would have voted for Kerry because of their poll.
If BBV does exist, however, it's possible that the stolen votes will be in minority dominate precincts -- which would make Gallup valid.
However, their strategy may backfire on them, if they give Bush too big a spread, when the election is really close because the Bush supporters may believe that their vote isn't needed.

7. Gallup Has Credibility With The Masses Or Asses If You Will |
|
They have credibility because of their longevity whether we like it or not...
However if we can prove that their polling deliberately excludes or diminishes the voices of blacks and browns that's an angle we can use to bring it down...

10. Here are the questions, from EDM |
|
1. SALIENCE: How much thought have you given to the upcoming election for president?— quite a lot, or only a little? (“Quite a lot” or “Some” as a volunteered response score one point)
2. KNOWLEDGE: Do you happen to know where people who live in your neighborhood go to vote? (“Yes” scores one point)
3. BEHAVIOR: Have you ever voted in your precinct or election district? (“Yes” scores one point)
4. BEHAVIOR: How often would you say you vote—always, nearly always, part of the time, or seldom? (“Always” or “Nearly always” scores one point}
5. INTENTION: Do you, yourself, plan to vote in the presidential election on November (*), or not? (“Yes” scores one point)
6. BEHAVIOR: In the presidential election, did you vote for (*) or (*), or did things come up to keep you from voting?
7. INTENTION: I’d like you to rate your chances of voting in the upcoming election for president on a scale of 1 to 10. If “1” represents someone who definitely will not vote, and “10” represents someone who definitely will vote, where on this scale of 1 to 10 would you place yourself?There's also a discussion of how they are used. http://www.emergingdemocraticmajorityweblog.com/donkeyrising/archives/000725.php
