1. Sounds like it'll be televised, too...
A "major foreign policy speech." :)

4. That might be earlier in the day in another state.
Ohio? Any body know what JK's doing this morning?
If you're in the Pittsburgh area, come in person. I took my grade school age kids to a McGovern rally in Pittsburgh MANY years ago, and they grew up to be political activists/liberal Dems all - even the one who's a senior vp for a major bank.

3. My son and I are going!
We have a bus load of campaign volunteers from Westmoreland County going. It should be a great time.

5. Great! I hear GOP out your way is paying $1 per Kerry yard sign!
That's the word given to the staff of a Dem state representative by
a friendly GOP constituent.

14. I take my signs in at dusk.
But it would be great to catch the scum-sucking sign stealers on film. Get their license number and bring criminal action. If it's teenagers after the GOP bounty, they would quickly rat out the GOP. Just like the bogus voter registration people did when the GOP didn't pay out as promised.

8. When you go to a rally and they say 'Doors open at 4:30,' does this
usually mean Kerry or Edwards won't appear til way later? Kerry is coming to Minneapolis on Thursday and I've never attended a rally - how long do you usually wait for their actual appearance on stage?

10. What I have seen in the past is that the candidates show up about 2 hours
after doors open. But I would NOT advise waiting. I went to the rally in Greenburg, PA in August, and it took almost 2 hours to get through security.

13. Agreed - had a 90 minute wait for Gore in Springdale, PA
But hey, it's fun to talk to all the other enthusiastic Dem supporters!

11. I can't wait!
My sister and I are going and we're bringing our kids. I am a little worried about my son (9 y.o.)because he gets a little panicky in big crowds. I might end up spending most of the rally sitting in my car with him. Does anyone know what the area where the rally will be held is like? Is it an open area?

12. Outdoor lawn area - like the "mall" in DC, only not so big
Try for a place on the side near the front. Parking is a problem there, so allow a lot of time to walk from your car. I'm thinking about parking at Pitt in Oakland, and walking ten minutes to get to CMU.
