3. * has called me at least twice and sent me several different flyers
Maybe he thinks I am an "undecided" on account of the split between Nader and the Greens, but believe me I know exactly where my vote is going. }(

2. I got that too and I am registered as a Democrat
My husband is registered Dem, too, but it was only addressed to me (let's fake out the dumb broad)----I wished there was a return address because I would have loved to smear it with feces and return it.

4. Oh, I never even thought of the dumb broad fake-out tactic
I don't think that's the case with me because hubby has gotten some too, but then he used to be registered as a Repub before we got married. (I think?)

15. I have no idea what the breakdown is in this state
In my own family hubby and I are voting for Kerry, my dad is voting for Nader, not sure about my mother--probably Kerry because she hates NCLB, FIL and BIL are religious righties so they are voting for * although the FIL likes Kerry's plan for health coverage and it almost swayed him.

And the signs I see all around are no help. There are clearly pockets of Kerry support and definite pockets of * support, but I can't tell who is winning.

We might be able to get a bit of info from the larger newspapers though:

18. Green--I just clicked on the WJ electoral map that was posted in
another thread. They don't even have Maine as a battleground; therefore, it must be going blue again. They have only the real battlegrounds colored in and when you point your mouse at them, it tells the poll stats. I've seen some that are like 5 point leads for Kerry, etc.; so that must mean that Maine is beyond that in pro-Kerry.

13. I got that and some others and noticed how the flyers show their racism
They darken Kerry's picture into one of those "sinister person of color" photos they like to use to appeal subliminally to racism.

17. Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed too, but I wasn't
looking at it in a racism light but just that Kerry didn't look good in it.

If I get another one I'll look more closely at it and see what other "subliminamable" messages Rove put into it.

environmental clubs. I have been pounded with mailers from them and even phoned to remind me to vote, but thankfully nothing from bush.

26. These folks might be surprised to hear that...
Just picked up my November issue of Organic Style and they list the top 50 environmental crusaders. GREAT article. THK is #10:

#4 Nancy Pelosi (US Rep and House Minority Leader):
" 'It was difficult knowing that anti-environmental members would chair the key committees and set the agenda,' she said. The assault on environmental protections has been almost daily...with a particular rush to dismantle safeguards once the Bush Administration took office."

#6 Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
"The number one threat to the environment? George W. Bush, says Kennedy. ...the most prominent environmental lawyer in the nation, he has fought such corporate polluters as GE and Exxon and sued treatment plants to force compliance with the Clean Water Act. 'In case after case, battles have been won, only to have the Whitehouse change the laws...There's only one solution: regime change.' "

#8 Jim Jeffords, US Senator (I-Vermont)
"Americans need to be made aware that their lives are in danger under the Bush Administration's policies," says Jeffords

#10 - Teresa Heinz Kerry :-)
One of her biggest projects: Greening Pittsburgh...which is now home to more energy efficient structures than any place else in the country. 'So often people fall into the trap of thinking the status quo is the way it is because there are no alternatives. But we ask the 'what-if' questions."

If you're in the grocery store and looking for a great read, pick it up and support a media outlet that is letting people tell the truth about Mr. "Good steward of the land" Smirk.
