I don't get it. Someone please explain. |
|
* goes AWOL from the NG. Kerry gets wounded fighting in Vietnam, yet * is the hero and Kerry won't protect our country
* lies and changes his mind daily, yet Kerry is called the "flip-flopper"
* has been nothing but a fear-monger since 9-11, yet Kerry is the one who's pegged as resorting to fear.
* bankrupts the country, but Kerry is the one who's fiscally irresponsible.
* cuts military benefits and sends them to die uselessly, but the military supports * and Kerry is the one they say doesn't support the military.
Ignorance can be cured with education and knowledge, but how do you deal with the stupidity of the American people?

The more crazy they make us and the more off-balance/afraid/ignorant they keep us, the more they can get away with. They are pure, unadulterated evil.

None of us here can figure this out. Find ways to channel that disbelief in the ignorance of the voting public or you will go crazy.

It's the bottom line...always. Just look at what Bush is out there saying these last two weeks, more than anything...'John Kerry/Liberal/Liberal Allies/the Liberals/Liberalism' which equates to tax and spend/hold on to your wallet/big government taking more money from you.
Hell, even the criticism of the rollback for those over $200K is a joke (if not outright lie). I'd really like to see the data on the '900,000 small business that will be affected'. I live in an affluent community of major corporate headquarters and tons of small businesses. There's also a large number of homebased businesses here...and these people are always touting how they are creating jobs. Truth is, all they 'hire' are subcontractors. That's not the same thing as 'hiring', IMO. They refuse to 'hire' not because they can't afford to, but because they don't want to pay employer payroll taxes. They want to grow their business, but fail to invest in order to do so. It's mind boggling. But they don't think about those things and so often don't connect to themselves the criticisms they have about others.

Bush's support, and the way he gets away with most transparent lies, is almost impossible to explain.
The explanation that has made the most sense is Michael Ventura's recent column that credits Shrub's "feigned certainty" as his most compelling asset. That seems to impress the sheeple who don't want to think.

if you are willing to accept that Duhbyuh is a True Christian, and that Kerry is a Mary-worshipper.
The fifth is about 35-year-old scores that still haven't been settled.
Neither of these absurdities will stop being issues under a Kerry administration; the fight has only begun.

re-pubs have focused on their goals for years and years. They targeted the bible belt because they are true believers and by nature resist the pressures of reason. They have largely been uncontested on their rhetoric. It is simple focused and repeated. And repeated. They exploit every opportunity. Every possible channel of communication is utilized. The uniform message is repeated. It's a message that is constantly tested, adjusted, and repeated. They plan for the future like a CEO in a 5-10 year horizon. The opposing messenger is knocked to the ground. The rhetoric to destroy the opposing messenger is echoed on all channels of communication. They repea... Then they change the subject to their message and hit back with more rhetoric. They use their own weakness to attack the opposition. e.g. Kerry is a flipflop-per. We know shrub invented flip-flopping so if both are flipflop then who wins? The person and or machine that repeats the false notion. The average attention span of a TV viewer is 8 seconds so it is an easy game. We live in the greatest country in the world. Yeah we have lots of problems but most people are busy with their own lives. That leaves them with small sound bites to make up their mind. The difference today is that we realized how important the repeated consistent message is in politics. This year we are on the radio, in the mail box, on the Internets, the telephone, and most importantly using our wallets. Its not about family values it's about valuing families. The big dog told us we win if people think. Try to make people think. I like to ask questions like, Why are there more abortions under 4 years of bush than the last 4 years of Pres Clinton? Why has congress raised the debt celling every year of the bush administration? Why do I pay more taxes after 3 years of complete rep control? What is the deal with these gas prices? Why are we borrowing so much money from China? We let 2 countries develop nuclear weapons in the last few years? So who got fired for the failure on 9/11?.....

That's the best short description of "why" that I've seen. The far right has built a very effective propaganda machine founded rock-solid on the science of persuasion (sometimes, I think, the only arena in which this administration relies upon sound research), and has been pursuing a coordinated plan to gain power for a very long time. Their opposition has only very recently come to understand the gravity of the threat and has barely begun to respond appropriately.
This is an uphill battle, folks, and if we rest on our laurels after electing John Kerry, we'll soon be back where we started or worse. We've got to discredit them, dismantle their power structures, charge them with the crimes they've committed and criminalize those things they've done that should have been criminal, and, above all, we need to gently nudge our fellow citizens back to consciousness.
Calling some people "sheep" misses the point: almost all of us can be misled, at least for a short while, given a few seemingly minor vulnerabilities on our part, and the use of effective methods for exploiting our weaknesses on the part of our brainwashers. It's not "us the wise" against "them the sheep" -- it's us, the fortunate ones who are standing on the shore, who have a moral duty to assist those of us who are drowning.

17. Two things: (BUT it all boils down to one thing, MONEY) |
|
1) Media. Bush, because the media is ultimately owned by corporations, which are generally right wing. The media only allows the messages that are complimentary to Bush, most of the time. Can anyone really say that there is ONE balanced television corporation anymore? When the head of VIACOM, who is a Kerry donor, announces he thinks BUSH is better for HIS CORPORATION, and he's "voting VIACOM!", then you undertand WHY the messages are screwed up the way they are.
2) Corporate money. See.. for every People-Powered Howard, and every MoveOn, etc., there are hundreds of CORPORATE-financed groups funding the attacks on Kerry. The republicans have billions of dollars at their disposal to attack Kerry, and get their message out.

19. Doesn't matter the quality of one's record |
|
The conservative GOP has an agenda. We all know that. In order to go forward with it they must have a stooge in the white house doing their bidding. If Mother Teresa or the Pope himself were running for president the GOP and Bush minions would do or attempt to do a hatchet job on them too. Probably try and cast mother Teresa as a total fraud and a prostitute. Believe me if they think it will serve their interests they wouldn't hesitate. They do not care about Kerry's very honorable record. In fact that very record is seen as a threat to Bush as Bush has nothing to counter it with so they have to try and destroy Kerry at all costs. That's the stakes the republicans see this. If they could they would try to accuse Kerry as a child molester. They have no class nor ethics at all. And the republicans wonder why they are so hated?

we can be blamed to some degree.
I think media is surprised about how we have sinclair up against the ropes. If we keep pressure on hypocrisy they will start reporting and stop pandering. The pressure has been one sided for to long.
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
