Forget Poll Land!
Yeah, you heard me. Forget Poll Land! It's a meaningless concept, a mirage that, at best, is vaguely indicative of how a very, very small portion of the nation feels about the election. The polls will remain "neck and neck" in every Presidential election from now until the end of time, or until the end of media as we know it, whichever comes first. And I am just as apt to say that whether the states over on Electoral-Vote turn blue or red. The only information we can hope to garner from polls are:

1) What the media would like us to believe is the current situation.
2) What the political planners might be basing their guesswork off of.
3) America is actually a pretty funny shape, when you look at it.

FORGET POLL LAND!

It would be nice if the faith-based anti-poll crowd would recognize that they are also divisive

2. you bailed it...
one on the most salient criticisms of bush is that his analyses are based on faith and not reason or science ...

If we act as Luddites and ignore the polls we are guilty of the same thing...

3. Actually, polls are very useful when used correctly
The small number of respondents is based on well researched probability theory. Historically, presidential polling from respected organizations have shown to be very accurate at predicting the winner.
