The free event, called "Salute to Veterans," was organized by Brevard For Kerry at Imperial's Hotel and Convention Center.

Tom Wiley, who served two years in Vietnam as an officer, said he attended to hear about Sandusky's experiences.

"Those awards aren't given out, and by saying he didn't earn them, that to me is an insult to all those who received awards," Wiley said.
