Voted today in Arkansas and unbelieveable
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 02:54 PM by devrc243
long lines. I stood in line for over an hour and they said it had been this way since early voting began on Monday! They're saying this is the biggest early voting EVER! While waiting, I got to talking to a couple behind me about the daily show and Bush. Both said they are so ready to see Bush head back to Crawford for good:D They said they have lived here all their life and have never seen a turnout like this one!

:bounce:

9. Sending him back to Crawford is a start toward that goal
As long as he's in office and congress is GOP controlled, nobody is going to do any kind of investigation into his activities.

40. I can understand and appreciate this as someone
who lived in Texas for 10 under his "governship." I moved to Arkansas a year ago, so I was going through what you are dealing with now in 2000--I knew then people would have to see for themselves what an idiot he is before they would actually believe it. Unfortunately, in the process, alot of our young soldiers have died due to his ignorance and incompetence.

Texans are smarter than they ---sound...!

6. How much stuff is on your ballot? Did U C any1 give up?
Were people leaving before they voted?

Not only do we have people to vote for, we have 4 bond issues and 2 state ammendments on the ballot.
Our lines will be long and slow moving. I am afraid a lot of voters will give up and go home. We only have one day to vote.

11. We had the touch screen and I asked if it was a Diebold
machine and the lady looked at me puzzled. I asked her if this vote would count:evilgrin: and she smiled and said most definitely! These weren't Diebold as I found out afterwards. Some other company named Votran  or something like that. I had never heard of them.

26. Was there any Exit Polling?
I am concerned that there will be no exit polling where the touch screen voting takes place. Especially those with no paper trails.

43. The initiatives are a good thing
Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Here, in California, we have - I don't remember - something like 20 initiatives but I would fight to the death to keep my right to decide these issues. It's what's made California so progressive. It's true grassroots democracy.

13. Clinton IS STILL ADORED
here, especially now that they know what a piece of crap Bush is for president. Of course the fundies don't like him--nothing new there--but his library will be finished on Nov 18 and it's already drawing a big crowd. There won't be an empty hotel room for miles:D

36. Even people who didn't like Clinton before
Have really softened toward him post-Presidency, except the frothing at the mouth fundies of course. Now that the right wing witch hunt against him has abated, people are starting to appreciate what a sharp guy he is, particularly in comparison to the doofus in the Oval Office now.

Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 11:13 PM by cyr330
And I haven't lived there for 20+ years, but my parents are still there. My mother (a RABID Democrat) told me that the Dems had registered approximately 25,000 voters in Pulaski County--I think that's correct? She said that 90% of those registered were Dems, because I think a few were "independents". . . Wouldn't it be sweet for AR to go back to its home in the Democratic Party? Maybe I would be able to eventually forgive it for voting for that cretin, GWB.
