CNN's Bob Franken reports "Cleveland is in Ohio" |
|
Reporting on Condi Rice making political speeches.
From the report (almost verbatim)
Democrats have accused National Security Advisor Rice of blurring the line between politics and policy.
By definition of the job it focuses on matters international.
This was Rice last week at Cleveland's City Club (direct Rice quote)"..and because of the President's plain spoken and resolute leadership in combatting WMD..." Cleveland is in Ohio, the much heralded and all important to the election Ohio.
Since Labor Day Rice has spoken in OreGON and is expected to speak twice this week in Pennsylvania.
Critics say this is blatant politics in a time of so many crises
WH spokesman Scott McClellan "...the speeches that she has given are engagements that she was invited to attend"
Clinton's NS Advisor Anthony Laitte (sp?)TWO speeches in '96 both in DC Sany Berger-ONE in 2000 in DC Carter's Brzenzski-TWO speeches out of DC (in '80 I guess)
Brzenzski (part of Kerry's team WOW do they have some heavy hitters on the Kerry team) "I am afraind that that this is, at least in my book, excessive politicization of an office that is unusually sensitive".

As opposed to the TV in my house? I'm a dense CNN viewer; I need obvious things pointed out to me in minute detail. ;)

|
Why are they fact-checking his speeches?

make it hard to believe that Bob Franken is really Al Franken's cousin. But he is.
