Theory: Bush knew there were no WMDs & therefore didn't expect casualties
He told Pat Robertson he didn't expect casualties, and that is a VERY telling statement.

It NEVER WAS about the WMDs--he and Cheney knew there were none.

It was always about the OIL from Day One, just as we here have always known.

.
and thought he'd find some (even though it was always about the oil) but now I see that he KNEW for fact that there was little chance of any WMDs being found or used against our soldiers.

6. Of course ....
if Bush thought there were WMDs : {1} he would have waited for the inspectors to locate/isolate them; {2} Cheney would not have had to have forged Niger yellow cake documents made and distributed.

If you are Commander in Chief, you are going to be extra careful if an enemy has WMDs. Bush wasn't. He HAD to invade BEFORE the UN inspectors blew his cover story.

Also, Cheney would not have had to have the forgeries made. In fact, he would only have to have forged documents in the case of if he knew for sure there were no real WMD transactions.

The new CIA chief is sitting on the information that will expose what a sham this war was/is.

7. WMD & Pat Robertson
Has Bush & Co said anything about this comment?

Probably Robertson didn't realize it would make Bush look like a fool.

Maybe Robertson wants to hurt Bush by lying and saying this? But, I thought Pat was a big Bush supporter.

10. Here's a link to the transcript
It's going to be hard to explain their way out of this one. That's what happens when you have faith-based reality. It's hard to keep up with all the lies.

8. It's more than just oil
though it's part of it. It's about opening up a socialist society to capitalism at the point of a gun. Add to the mix a healthy dose of optimistic ideology and religious zeal, and you got yourself a war in Iraq.

9. Wrong

Bush Sr. thought Saddam had WMD's in 1991, and he was right.

However, Saddam never used his bio/chem weapons against U.S. forces, even though we invaded him.

Dubayah knew in 2002 that Saddam didn't have them any longer, but that's not why he thought there would be no casualties.

He figured Saddam would lie down, and his armies lie down, and they would have an easy victory. He's just a big idiot and has clueless advisors.

11. He just meant that any Americans who died in Iraq
would immediately go to Heaven and get 77 fundamentalist virgins.
So they don't really count as casualties.

14. Bush is doubly screwed
Stating that there would be no casualties not only indicates he knew there were no WMD, it also shows that he was being snookered by his PNAC Masters into the belief that our soldiers would be met with flowers and kisses and that a "shock and awe" air war would be enough. This proves that Bush had no plan for after the war and didn't think an insurgency would come about. The "mission accomplished" flightsuit moment and the belittling of General Shinseki's warnings about 200,000+ troops required to do the job all fall into line with this. Bush had no clue about what was he was getting America into.
