If we win, how many are planning on being "poor winners"?
I'm neither a dour pessimist nor an eternal optimist about this election. I fall somewhere in the middle of the hope/fear scale. So I'm not saying any of this is a done deal, and I capitalize and bold face the IF part.

But IF we win, will you gloat? Will you as they say "stick it to" any of your freeper aquaintances/friends/family?

I don't really have any freeper friends or family so in real life its not an issue. But there are a few online aquaintances I have who I wouldn't mind sending a knowing smirk their way.

But in any event I think given the way they bush/cheney cult has acted over the past year, that it would be more than justified. I will say that If and when Kerry is president and the first time a criticism is leveled at him, I can't wait to see someone ask them why they hate America since criticizing the president in a time of war was such a horrible thing when it was done to Bush.

36. I can not wait to use that phrase over and over again.
But the dems cheated..."GET OVER IT"

Dead people were voting..."GET OVER IT"

But the liberal media ruined it for Bush..."GET OVER IT"

Oh, I just can't wait.

Our side should have more class than that.

There is really no time for gloating, this country is seriously fucked up. Kerry won't be gloating, he'll be going to work. We should all do the same.

26. Class won't fight a bunch of junkyard dogs.
They've murdered our leaders for decades. It's time we started throwing theirs into prison, all of them, on charges ranging from things like insider trading, obstruction of justice and all the way to treason. We can do it and we MUST do it if we're ever to regain the US's reputation in the world.

The whole Bush team needs to be jailed on their abrogation of the Geneva Conventions. A reputation that took nearly a century to build was destroyed within months by that gang. Only when we throw them into prison will the world begin to be convinced that the past four years were an aberration.

Let the right wing howl with indignation. Just let them do it out of power!

61. I agree entirely
If Kerry wins, November 3 will mark the beginning of the hard work, the same hard work that no one has done for the last four years. There's not enough time to wait until January 20, 2005.

20. The Republicans will NEVER cooperate with Kerry.
The best we can hope for is that we take back the senate, and, during the mid-term elections, take back the house.

The Republican party has become so radicalized that there's just no dealing with them. And remember that they've still got FOX, Limbaugh, Hannity, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal, and so many more out there who will still be pushing their propaganda and doing the best they can to destroy Kerry's presidency.

But first things first. Let's win big.

68. Think you might be wrong there
WHEN Kerry takes it in an electoral landslide (my guess is 311-350), and WHEN voter turn out hands the Senate to the Democrats- Repugs, like deer in a forest fire, will have to smell the change in the air. With a Dem. controlled Senate, they should be able to submit riderless, simple legislation that Repugs will be afraid to vote against. Like allowing collective bargaining for Rx drugs, or ending all those damned drug commercials, or a NEW assault weapons ban with teeth. Closing overseas corporate loopholes, etc., etc. If done right, they will have to play ball or go home. It also looks like there is some new legal stirring on the Texas jerrymandering front. Oh boy, this is going to be fun to watch.

52. I Want to Hear Rush Limbaugh Play "The End"
The Doors - The End - modified for Rushbaugh

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
We'll never drive all policy...again

Can you picture what could be
So liberal-less and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Liberal...wilderness of pain
And all the voters are insane...

(violent insane part omitted)

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end!!!!!!!!!!!!

58. The smile on my face will be all that is said or done
They will know what happened.
Outside of collecting on a bet that will go directly to a charity, I plan no other action.
It is called chivalry

62. Since I wasn't allowed to gloat when Kerry won the nomination,
I plan on doing plenty of it when he wins the Presidency.

64. Hell, no. I'm not gloating.
What's there going to be to gloat about?

Say we win, and somehow it's not close enough to steal, and somehow the Bush administration agrees to step down, and somehow they don't put the entire output of the Executive Branch under lock and key in the Idiot Manchild Presidential Library, and somehow we get lucky and discover that the White House hasn't been concealing an economic depression, and somehow drunken rednecks don't take to the streets.

What are we left with? A nation trapped in a war-footing against an enemy we can never confront and defeat. A bankrupt government, diplomatically isolated. A Kerry Presidency left to clean up a thousand toxic messes--both literal and metaphorical--left by the Bush Administration. The right-wing attack machine fueled by the leftovers of a half a billion dollar campaign slush fund.

The only gloating we're going to do is on our hands and knees, working our fingers to the bone, scrubbing the blood stains out of the national fabric while the conservatives point fingers, jeer, and count their payoff.

And that's a job I will happily do, despite the fact that we will be the most destitute of winners.

71. All good points
I will gloat 2 days for every point we win by.

As far as things already being run down, we all know shrub hasn't worked hard. Much less kept us above water. So it will be challenging but imagine how poorly shrub would do. We have to build from here and take back the house. Otherwise full recovery will be delayed.

65. Having lived through sixteen years of being told that
Republicans could be overbearing and self-righteous while Democrats had to be "bi-partisan," I will be happy to say sweetly and innocently to any Republican who gives me grief, "Whatever happened to the spirit of bi-partisanship that you've always suggested for us?

And if any pundits come on the TV or radio and start talking about "the failed Kerry administration" as they talked about "the failed Clinton administration" two weeks (two weeks!) into his first term, that media outlet will get faxed and/or phoned so intensely that its communications networks will explode.

72. No. I will be so grateful that I will not gloat. The perpetual
smile on my face will probably drive my repug friends crazy, but I've lost most of them anyway so it doesn't make any difference. If I met Sean Hannity at the airport though, all bets are off - I would definitely gloat.

I won't have gloated like this since the Montreal Canadiens beat the Flyers for the Stanley Cup
(Long story - I live in Philly - have always been a Canadiens fan - put up with a lot for couple of years then got my sweet, sweet revenge.)

79. One thing: As soon as a freeper disses Kerry, I'll accuse them of being
traitors to the country, unpatriotic, guilty of treason and aiding the enemy.

Just because they deserve at least that much grief, seeing as how they slathered that on me endlessly for criticizing the war in Iraq.

Despite this, I will not gloat at the Republicans in my life. However if I'm about and I hear some puke talking trash, then I'll be in a big gloating-mood.

But I will be privately euphoric for quite a while after the election... And I will secret savor the reactions of Bush & Co on TV as they concede defeat.
