VotePair.org...a Nader wildcard?
A friend sent me this link. I find it kind of disturbing -- maybe. Still haven't sorted out the ramifications. Basically (you can read in-depth at the link), if you are in a "safe" state, you get paired up with a third-party (read: Nader, Badnarek) voter in a swing state. He casts his vote for Kerry to help in the swing state, while you cast yours for Nader "to help third party candidates register" on the vote tallies. The theory being, it will eventually force the whore media and politicos to recognize third party candidates. It sounds almost like a good idea, but I can think a million ways this can go wrong.

2. Please don't waste your vote
You have no guarantee what will happen on the other end. I wouldn't trust this at all.

4. Would you trust a Nader voter?

I wouldn't. They're so blind and stubborn.
In most cases this will mean 2 votes for Nader and 0 for Kerry.

6. Why encourage people like Nader?
There is no reason to vote for him at all.

7. Folks, don't fall for the votepair scam
I think votepair encourages the false idea that we already know -- based on polls bought and paid for by large corporations -- how the people will vote.

I completely and utterly reject the entire red-state/blue-state paradigm, an artificial and misleading thought construct which exacerbates the destructive divisiveness in American society and politics. Take Alaska's vote in 2000 for example. One of the reddest states. But look at the percentages: Bush 58.62 Gore 27.67 Nader 10.07 -- try mixing 58.62% red paint, 27.67% blue paint, and 10.07% green paint and see what color you get - it ain't red.

I also don't trust that everyone logging into votepair is being honest about their intentions. Bush supporters could pretend to be Nader supporters, convincing you to vote for Nader, without ever really meaning to vote for Kerry. I'm not ever going to do anything but vote my conscience again.
