17 American Patriots Protest against Sinclair in Raleigh, NC..3 Freeps!
I'm so proud that one of our NC DU'ers alerted us to this protest, and so my hubby is down there protesting against Sinclair and our two Sinclair owned stations (which occupy the same building.)

He has two signs and he says some of the protestors are dressed as the Statue of Liberty...and cars are slowing down and looking to see what it's all about.

We've protested everything: Bush and Cheney's visits and done all the Local Anti-Iraq Invasion Protests...I wish I could have been there but had "work" but ...it's great and this is after Sinclair announced their "fake" report that they had pulled the Anti-Kerry Swift Boat "documentary/commercial for Bush.

AND...even though I'm on the e-mail list for all the NC Kerry Campaign and Progressive Activist activities...it was DU poster who gave me the "heads up" on this that we could organize! Thank You...don't want to name names because the Freeps will report to "Agent Mike." :D

where he couldn't get away...and yes we were at the Fair Grounds...remember the "helicopter?" The only way we knew Cheney had been "spirited into the back door while we were there behind the metal barricade with our signs "greeting the donors" who were passing by to get into the campaign event....

It was actually easier, here, to protest the Chimp than Cheney...Which really said "Who Runs the Country and is P-Resident?" doesn't it...

"Always be kind to your mice." :D

7. completely off subject. however...
...I was talking to one of my mice the other day, thought I saw something and was looking close and talking to keep her calm, and one of the new animal techs saw me. He went to my tech and told him I was talking to my mice and T, w/o missing a beat, says in a worried voice "Oh crap, not again" and quickly leaves the barrier. Apparently the look on the new guys face was priceless.

5. WB22 and UPN 28 are the stations in Raleigh...we had more Chapel Hill
Durham protestors than Raleigh...but that's the way it is here in Triangle of NC.

9. Media from competing stations covering the protest
Great! What could have been a quite little show on one station will now be brought to the attention of other viewers. This could have died a quick un-noticed death.

11. Latest "Cell Phone" is that Raleigh Police showed up and moved "Freeps"
off the grassy median, so they had to be on our side. Hubby says one more freeper joined and so it was four...and that two started shouting at Sinclair protestors and when "reasonable" protestors tried to engage them in conversation they just kept shouting and didn't seem to understand that WE OWN THE AIRWAVES and that this is what it's ALL ABOUT.

Hubby said that one of the four "Freeptypes" was a Vietnam Veteran and he was trying to say that he was angry over Vietnam and felt the "protesters" were being "anti-war" so he had to come out...

14. christ...that last one sounds a bit like...
the one I "talked" to at the pre-war anti-war rally in Raleigh. He actually said to me "where does it say in the Constitution that I have to be well informed before I can have an opinion." the only response I could come up with was something to the effect of "it doesn't, but that just means your an ignorant jerk!" Not one of my better moment. :)

15. Okay...this is what the four "Supporters of Sinclair said" in their angry
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 06:39 PM by KoKo01
diatribe against the 17-20 Sinclair Protestors:

Sinclairs FREE SPEECH is being challenged by "Protestors" and that this "Documentary" that was supposed to be shown was the "Counterbalance to F/911!"

...so the "protestors of Sinclair" engage the Freeps saying: "NO! This is about "Public Airwaves..and Corporate Media Domination."

Their response was: "Sinclair should be free to air whatever it wants to and we don't want FCC Government contol to tell us what to think."

The Vietnam Veteran said: "Sinclair had a right to FREE SPEECH and JOHN KERRY DOESN'T have an HONORABLE DISCHARCE...and "I GAVE MY LIFE TO DEFEND THIS COUNTRY." The protestors thought he was very scarey and the "organizer of the march" felt he was freaky...so maybe he was "Paid."

Point is that it seems these PRO-Sinclair Four...couldn't seem to defend their positions and turned off the "activists" so much they were at a "loss of words" to confront them..because their claims were so "outlandish." :shrug" again...
