Hello! Thank you for taking the time to contact us at PepsiCo. Accurate and balanced journalism is important to us, and we appreciate your thoughts regarding Sinclair Broadcasting Group's upcoming plans. We have no national advertising buys scheduled with Sinclair Broadcasting, nor do we plan to advertise on the program in question. We will also make our bottlers aware of this situation and share these concerns so they can take them into consideration as they plan their local marketing efforts. We will follow the resolution of this issue closely. Given your concerns, we also would suggest that you communicate your views directly to Sinclair Broadcasting Group's President and Chief Executive Officer, David D. Smith. He can be contacted at Sinclair Broadcasting Group, 10706 Beaver Dam Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030, or via email at comments@sbgi.net Again, many thanks for bringing this to our attention. We value your comments, and equally, the constructive spirit in which they are offered.

Here's what I had sent them: To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express my disgust that advertisers are continuing to purchase time on Sinclair Broadcasting Group stations. SBG's intent to air a blatantly partisan political smear against Senator Kerry is shamelessly hypocritical, and quite possibly illegal. Earlier this year, SBG refused to air a segment of Nightline, which was to honor US Armed Forces members who had been killed in Iraq. Their claim was that "...we do not believe such political statements should be disguised as news content."
Yet this is exactly what they now propose: a smear campaign against Senator Kerry that is anything but news.
This is a clear attempt to affect the outcome of the election in favor of Bush. It is blatantly political, and should by no means be considered "news content."
I urge you to pull your ads from all Sinclair Broadcasting Group stations in protest of this action. I will boycott any advertiser who continues to purchase air time on stations owned by this group, which is well-known to support right-wing causes.
This does pain me, as I am the biggest Diet Dew fan on the PLANET, and probably keep you in biz all by myself, but I MUST stand for what is right here; I hope your company will stand with me, and the thousands of others, who are willing to join this boycott. Please pull your ads from this group's stations if it decides to proceed with this shamelessly hypocritical programming plan.
Respectfully yours,
"grannylib"
