was this a 'test' to see if Chimpy had enough intergity to own up to a 'mistake'? Has the religious-wing realized that Chimpy is out of control and was this his 'chance at redemption'??

If he owned up to the statement, then they thought he could be saved...

If he denied it and laid the blame on Pat.. then he's beyond salvation...

10. WHY isn't the Kerry team really, really, really pushing this right now?

I know there was a great statement by them last night saying that they gave Bush the benefit of the doubt but would like him to clarify if Robertson is a liar or not. GREAT---but now pound and pound and pound on this. I said yesterday that Robertson is a cool con man and doesn't make dumb mistakes like this. Why do I have the feeling that Robertson wants to run for president again and be the darling of the fundies (if nothing else it brings in a lot of money for his stickey fingers). Just seems like there is something political going on in "Fundie Land" right now and we need to capitalize on it (this could be our Nader even without Pattie Boy on the ballot).
