Let's Welcome Republicans for Kerry:
A growing chorus of Republicans are endorsing John Kerry and/or criticizing George W. Bush. They range from moderate to conservative. Several of them have held state-wide elected office (Governorships or Senate Seats). I believe that they are crossing party lines and speaking up for a great reason: national unity.

After we win, we should all pledge to be different towards the Republicans than they were to us. We should include them at the policy making table. We should acknowledge when they have good ideas--and give them credit for them.

The act of the many Republicans who are crossing party lines is noble and patriotic. Let's commit to a spirit of bi-partisanship and national unity. Let's commit to unifying this wonderful country of ours.

We sould reach out to moderate republicans, but no way in hell do I want the neocons involved in the Kerry administraion. They've screwed up this country enough.

2. The ones who have been open-minded these last four years..
(And that DOES include a handful of conservatives)..sure, I'll hold out my hand to them. BUT...the ones who have been treacherous and vengeful to us..have not even let our Congressmen talk...SCREW 'EM!

They know who they are--you can tell 'em these days by that look of horror and dread on their faces!x(

B-)

5. I think there are Republicans who don't like what's happened
to their party and want to take it back from the nuts.

I think Kerry will be very good at bridging the wide divide, and some Republicans will be eager and willing to work with him.

Squelching the fascist fundies and creating a new unity among people of sanity will be huge priorities, and I think Kerry can and will do it.

6. Cheers to the moderate Republicans!
I know you're out there, as sick of this President as we are:

high deficit

unecessary war

pre- 9-11 screw-ups

bogus tax cuts

imposition of personal "religious morality" onto foreign and domestic policy

So I welcome all common sense to the Kerry cause. :hi:

8. Republican Switchers website
http://inprogress.typepad.com/republicanswitchers/

This is pretty cool -- a site that's trying to gather stories on *all* the Republican switchers, in hopes of generating still more of them.

They ask people to link to them to get the word around, so I'm trying to give them all the publicity I can.

14. If Kerry gives amnesty to McCain
Then McCain gets amnesty.

I kind of felt like you do, until I found a picture of him coming home on crutches. I thought to myself, "McCain gets a pass."
