Don't you dare under estimate the value Bill Clinton will have. |
|
Let me say it here loud and clear. This is going to be monster news coverage. And the black vote will be pouring out of the woodwork.
This is against Hillary's wishes. You couldn't hold him back with a tractor.
God, I wish we could clone him and have him everywhere.

3. Agreed, his first appearance will dominate a news cycle. |
|
That's very good for our side. Then he'll dominate local programming wherever he goes after that.

6. My friend, it will be covered everywhere he goes. |
|
I predict it will dominate news cycles as headliners whenever he speaks.
Don't forget, this is the president that presided over the greatest economic growth in US history. And he could have died a few weeks ago. Just the human interest aspect of the story alone, and concern for his health, will keep it dominating the news.

7. What do you bet shrub will be doing anything he can |
|
to try to divert the coverage? News conferences, phony "major policy speeches"
He can't let this momentum build with crowds going wild. Nobody can rev a crowd like Bill.

13. Don't overestimate it either |
|
Bill Clinton is nearly as polarizing a figure at George W. Bush is. Even with a relatively strong economic and a weak Republican opponent, only 49% of the voters could bring themselves to pull the lever for him in 1996. And Bill Clinton is undoubtedly the primary reason why Republicans were so united in 2000.
Clinton, in short, is a mixed blessing. He can motivate the base, and particularly African Americans, like few other politicians. But he also mobilizes Republicans. The Republicans -- particularly the kind of Republicans that comprise Bush's base, absolutely HATE this guy (ok, they hate Hillary more, but still . . . ).

14. It's night and day from 1996 |
|
Look what he did for the country in his last four years. Plus he hadn't almost died. This will prove to be one of the watersheds of putting the champagne on ice.
It's even more dramatic because it's like he's rising from the shadow of infamy. It will be like Seattle Slew rounding the last turn.
