Disgusting Act On Campus
I go to the University of Colorado - Boulder. This is a VERY liberal campus, but we have a very extremist republicans group there. They got Coulter to speak there and everything.

Anyway, the last few days there has been a demonstration of about 4-5 people in the middle of campus with huge signs (about 5-6' tall) of aborted fetuses on them. VERY graphic, very disturbing. Then, they have someone next to them with a giant Kerry/Edwards sign yelling stuff like "VOTE FOR KERRY! THIS WAY WE CAN KILL MORE INNOCENT BABIES!" Really vile.

So we don't end on a down note, I will let you know that very few people are falling for it and most of the people I heard walking by were saying stuff like, "Don't worry, we will" and "Better than 4 more years of killing innocent Iraqis and Americans".

1. Good..
They came to PSU, too. The best thing to do is what you've been doing - possibly organize people to counter this. People see through this crap, and they probably won't take it too seriously, but definitely try to counter it. Deplorable.

4. I'm glad to hear
that it's not just here. You would think they would choose a better spot though. Colorado is DEFINATELY a battleground state, but why try this in the ABSOLUTE MOST LIBERAL PART OF THE STATE?!? I mean, there's a reason we're refferred to as the "People's Republic of Boulder".

13. I think there's a group of 'em in every city
We see them in Tucson all the time. It's a group of whitehairs here who, sadly, sometimes have children holding up the more graphic signs.

On edit corrected typo.
I read on DU that Catholics were using that line to try to reach one-issue Catholic voters.

5. Yet another glaring example of henchmen with nothing positive to say
about their own candidate or his record. Morans. I'm glad they didn't go over very well with the students. Frankly, I don't see how they could. That's not exactly a welcoming display, is it? :scared:

6. So that's what they're reduced to, huh?
Pictures of fetuses and Little Oral Annie on campus, huh?

What's the name of that Buffalo mascot of yours?

Well, his stampede into your stadium is NOTHING compared to the way Ken Salazar's gonna trample on Pete Coors on Nov. 2!:D

Nor compared to the look of shock and awe on those Repubs' faces after Colorado is called for Kerry on Election Night!:7

Remember...when it comes to the Senate race, Ken Salazar "also likes the easy-opening cans!":eyes:

Go Buff Y.D.s!:bounce:

B-)

7. RALPHIE!!!!
GO BUFFS!

Salazar is gonna win. Not a doubt in my mind. I know a guy that works for him and the "inside polls" they discuss all have him up pretty big. Here's hoping Kerry can make it a two-fer.

Maybe it is time for huge pictures of the kids killed and maimed in Iraq. I always forget that there is no depth that they won't sink to to make their "point".

12. College Republicans should be Army recruits IMO
There aren't enough troops in Iraq and these little chickenhawk fuckers can wave fetus signs in the cushy suburbs. That's bullshit! Direct every one of them you meet to the local recruiting office.

14. :o/
I wonder why the campus doesn't step in and put a halt to their activity if they're demonstrating and causing a verbal ruckus? :wtf:

If someone lodged a complaint to the administration, would they shut them down?

17. Not that they would believe you, but
You can point out that the abortion rate, which was declining under Clinton, has been steadily rising since W took the office.

Dig around on the general forumn, and you can find a pointer to the studies.

19. How is Colorado looking for Kerry/Bush?
What cities are liberal or conservative?

I know Colorado Springs is where all the fundies hang out, and Boulder is liberal, but I don't know about Denver or Pueblo.

22. Denver is fairly liberal, with conservative pockets (suburbs)
Pueblo is also generally liberal, because it's a blue collar town (formerly known as the "steel city" before they shut down 90% of the mill) and there is a large Hispanic population. Of course there is a contingent in any struggling town who vote Republican because they think it will make them rich, but Pueblo is reliably Democratic.

Don't get me started on my hometown...

21. Win or lose, Democrats have something Republicans will never have...
...class and tact.

I hate to say this but such a thing is typical of Colorado Republicans. They used to line up on the streets of Colorado Springs for blocks with that stuff when I was little and my mom had to tell me not to look out the windows. These are the same people who want to "protect" kiddies from images of violence?

I feel for ya, friend. I'm up here at the University of Toronto, and I only know one Republican. He's a total jackass who won't even pay his $30 floor fees. Again, typical Republican antics.

28. I don't know...
the campus has changed. Still very liberal, but the more conservative people are a LOT more outspoken. Then anti-affirmative action bake sale, etc.. There's at least one day a week where there will be someone with a big Jesus Saves sign screaming at people.
