2. That's a good idea
We had an excellent field from which to choose this time around -- for all the fire he draws, even "Joementum" Lieberman has inflicted considerable damage to Bush and the GOP. It's been an inspiring political season all around.

5. Austin, Texas
Excellent idea, and I think the perfect place for such a rally is in Austin, Texas. Austin is heavily Democratic, so there should be no shortage of crowds, and it's FUCKING TEXAS! Bush's home state! (not counting Connecticut, of course...)

If Bush decides to have a rally in Austin as well, even better. We'd then have John Kerry in the heart of enemy territory receiving lots of love, while Bush would be a mile away, unwilling to leave the comfort of his home state.

6. Consider one thing regarding the Bush rally in California
If Gore had rightfully won, that Bush tactic -- a detour to an impossible state in the final day of a cliffhanger campaign -- would be cited as one of the alltime arrogant blunders in campaign history. If you win the Super Bowl by a point, all the lost fumbles are forgotten.

Not that I'm dismissing this idea, or some version of it. I've always wondered if the typical strategy is the most beneficial; zigzagging from one battleground state to another, literally until the wee hours.
