10. (not bashing, but) Nope, classic PR move
When business is good, the chiefs at a corporation are portrayed in the annual reports wearing their jacket and ties.

When times are rough (profits not as much as hoped, or facing losses), the CEO / staff are portrayed with shirtsleeves rolled up, like they're working hard.

Bet you could find a few "annual reports" with Bush in his suit. And the annual report the year after he left (if the company was still around) would have all the execs with their shirtsleeves rolled up.

No, I'm not bashing Dean. But it is classic PR. And we are in a rough ride. Watch for Bush(it) wearing his sleeves rolled up, if the economy really starts SHOWING.

14. It was sarcasm.
Some people here at DU like to mock Dean because he rolls his shirtsleeves up past his elbows. I guess they prefer the way Kerry folds his neatly up only halfway between his wrist and elbow.

No matter how much I don't like him, I'd much rather see covers like this then some of the other stuff he's gotten. What a lucky break to get this article out now.

25. LOL! But Dean does not reflect Rolling Stone readership politics!
They would rather decriminalize marijuana, like Kucinich.

The readership of Rolling Stone is completely out of whack with cryptoRepublican Dean, and more in line with Kucinich.

Of course, Kucinich, in order to pay for social programs, would raise taxes on the rich (people like multimillionaire Dean and the owners and management of Rolling Stone). Dean would cut social programs by raising the Social Security retirement age to 70, for example.
So they engage in yet another example of media manipulation by putting Dean on the cover rather than someone who reflects their own readership....

Go here for more on Dean's pseudoLiberal personal beliefs:
