1. Well, someone on the other boards said
that Imus called Kerry a bastard and said that if he shot a goose he was not voting for him. Well, finally Imus can stop lying and saying he is a Kerry supporter!

7. Imus is and always will be an ASS
he never sounded like a Kerry supporter.he always cut him down.esp after K&E didn't stop at his ranch in early morning hours to visit the "sick" kids.well, those kids shouldn't have been up at 3 or 4 in the morning!

I use to watch him.....but hes always has to have every one agree with him.even his staff can't say boo on air.they sit there and act like little kids getting reprimanded!

So killing a goose is worse than killing ducks, Iraqis, or American soldiers?

32. Was he serious? - Imus has a weird and arid sense of humor
I used to hate Imus, is still isn't a favorite, but sometimes when he 'jokes' about something his face doesn't change. You can sometimes watch the entire clip and not "know" if he was serious or joking.

was seen posing with a goose and a gun today on the campaign trail. I think Mr. Kerry feels if people think he's a hunter, they will think he's gun-supporter. Mr Kerry has voted numerous times to take guns away from American Citizens. it appears he really WILL do anything to win an election.

And for the Cheney News Network, I'm Candy Cruller, reporting from Poland."

Do you have any pets that have made an impact on you personally?

I have always had pets in my life and there are a few that I remember very fondly.

When I was serving on a swiftboat in Vietnam, my crewmates and I had a dog we called VC. We all took care of him, and he stayed with us and loved riding on the swiftboat deck. I think he provided all of us with a link to home and a few moments of peace and tanquility during a dangerous time. On day as our swiftboat was heading up a river, a mine exploded hard under our boat. After picking ourselves up, we discovered VC was MIA. Several minutes of frantic search followed after which we thought we lost him. We were relieved when another boat called asking if we were missing a dog. I turns out VC was catapulted from the deck of our boat and landed confused, but unhurt, on the deck of another boat in our patrol.

I also fondly remember a parakeet in college, Dodi Faustus. Dodi was a smart bird who learned a few words of French and Italian, but not smart enough to avoid having to be rescued from a tree once. My daughters and I had a Golden Retriever named Winston. Today, Teresa and I have a German Sheperd named Cym and a yellow parakeet.

12. Kerry is a hunter and has hunted for years.
The RW can't say a thing about this because Bush had several photo-ops during his Texas governor days when he was dove hunting.

I have always been infuriated when the RW tried to scare hunters and other gun owners by saying that liberals would take away guns and do away with hunting privileges, etc.... They always implied that if you hunted, shot targets, owned guns, etc., then you had to vote repub.

I have hunted for years and most of the men I have hunted with over the years have been staunch democrats (primarily teachers and union laborers).

Just like they try to hijack Christianity, the RW tries to hijack the right to own guns.

50. If I remember correctly...
...(and I probably do not!), I seem to recall a slightly embarrassing story regarding bush and dove hunting from the Texas Governor's race against Ann Richards. I think that during a dove hunt/photo op, bush took a shot at a 'dove' and upon retrieving it, found out that it was actually another type of bird (maybe a pigeon) that he mistook for a dove.

(If someone from Texas has a better memory than me, please feel free to correct and revise this story).

51. And Bush can't even do that right!
He once killed a Killdeer, which is federally protected.

"I thought it was a dove," Bush said, "I made a mistake and I'm going to pay for it." GW was fined $130 for shooting the bird with a 20-gauge shotgun during an hour long dove hunt in a field northwest of Houston.

And they make a very distinctive cry. May we assume that * was intoxicated at the time he shot the hapless bird?

My fiather-in-law cleans what he kills and if he can't keep it he gives it to a church in the area who give it to poor families (he has to pay a small fee for them to do that too).

And at this stage of the campaign, there is very little that happens which isn't wrangled into some kind of press coverage. Do you remember earlier, around the conventions? Kerry took some time off (mostly) away from photographers, and people here were screaming that he wasn't visible enough.

You just can't make everyone happy.

Showing Kerry hunting is politically very good in getting and keeping support among many blue-collar workers that he needs. It completely negates all the "upper-class rich French effete impudent snob" image the Republicans have been trying to paint.

47. It's called camouflage
See it helps them blend in with the surroundings so the animal they are hunting doesn't see them standing there.

Deer are color blind so hunters can wear blaze orange so that other hunters can see them in the woods while the deer relies on scent and movement to detect any danger in the area. Deer hunters tend to wear camou too because they just are in the habit of wearing it but mostly because all their hunting gear is camou-ed.

54. I wonder about the goose
Kerry probably did us Ohioans a big favor if it was one of our non-migratory Canada geese he shot. I guess Canada Geese used to be endangered in Ohio, so the ODNR restocked. But get this - they restocked with a subspecies of C. goose that is non-migratory, whereas the ones that nearly disappeared were migratory. So that's why there's all these huge fat geese everywhere during the year.

I hope this helps him with the blue collar folks.
