A couple hundred show up for Kerry rally in Bowling Green Ohio

Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) addresses supporters in Bowling Green, Ohio in August 2004. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that they have never seen a grassroots presidential campaign as intense as this one.(AFP/Hector Mata)

15. "Senator Kerry is speaking now, trying to get the crowd revved up . . . "
. . . but despite the rhetoric, both supporters seemed skeptical of Kerry's positions on Iraq and terrorism . . . "

16. Light turnout, businesses report slow day
Or, maybe: "Kerry supporter blocks local business doorway" (pick any one, business or Kerry supporter, from the many!)

22. Going to see Kerry in downtown Minneapolis today!
I bet we get close to 20,000!!! Keeping in mind Edwards had a showing of approx. 10,0000 - 12,000 earlier this month in the Twin Cities.

14. It's an OLD picture (BrentTaylor pointed out above)
From August but it is a really great picture. I was joking on the media understating anything that isn't pro Bush.

I almost freaked when I saw your title
I was thinking, "If we're only drawing a couple hundred at this point in the game, we're doomed!"

19. They've drawn 15,000 in the Dayton-Springfield area twice so far.
Granted many were repeaters, but still -- the polling is honest, and so (bless them) are the Dayton and Springfield papers when it comes to reporting numbers. My estimate at Springfield was exactly what they estimated the next day; VolcanoJen's estimate at the Dayton rally the other day was, again, exactly what the Dayton paper reported.

Of course, the Dayton Daily News endorsed Kerry. My thought was that they probably would because they had been reporting accurate numbers for his rallies locally. I was right.

17. I used to direct a 300 piece marching band. Just to put the photo
in perspective, 300 people would just the people that are to the bottom left of the shadow on the photo. That crowd is well over 10,000
and that's just what is shown in the photo.
