BATTLEGROUND STATE: Poll says Bush has big lead
October survey reveals 10-point spread over Kerry

<snip>
The presidential race that has been neck-and-neck in Nevada for several months has opened up with President Bush enjoying a 10-point lead over John Kerry, according to a new statewide poll of likely voters.

Bush leads Kerry 52 percent to 42 percent, according to the poll taken for the Review-Journal and reviewjournal.com from Oct. 14 through Oct. 16. A similar poll in September gave Bush a 50 percent to 45 percent lead.............

I don't get it. I really don't

6. Was that a Mason-Dixon poll, too?
That state is up for grabs. Kerry is contesting it heavily.

4. Is Las Vegas a GOP-leaning town?
If we can get successful in Vegas, we can win this state everytime.

7. Bush is not up 10 in Nevada
How do I know? According to the WaPo, Nevada is one of the states Clinton will campaign in for Kerry. He would not be sending the Big Dog to a state that wasn't winnable.

8. BUSH EMPIRE VIRTUAL REALITY ALERT!
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 12:08 PM by rocknation
Please ignore this poll, as it is a product of the Bush empire's Faith-Based Reality Manufacturing Program. The story has been planted as a weapon of mass demoralization. Details here.

9. Yeah, looks like NV & CO are going for *. See this site:
www.realclearpolitics.com, which keeps a running average on state polls, based on most recent polls. Bush is ahead, outside the MOE. There's always a possibility, BUT looks like there's a trend in those states. CO is more possible for Kerry, looks like.

11. If that's based on Mason-Dixon polls
I'm a bit wary. Their state polls seem to be a couple of points more pro-Bush than most others. They have Bush up by 3 in NH when others show Kerry tied or ahead.

15. No, that site keeps running averages of several different polls.
I notice that it leaves out Zogby, which is a hint to us. But it includes a bunch of other ones.

I like to look at averages of several recent polls, rather than any one poll, and that site uses an average, so I find it useful. I've heard it tends to use the RW-leaning polls, though, so caution is warranted. Still, they are recognized polls (Survey USA, Gallup, WP, and some others).

I checked out realclearpolitics and found it a very useful site for up to date polling results.

16. Caution is warranted, though. I don't think it includes Zogby, which
I think is notable. Still, the polls are the biggies and are valid. And since I like to use averages of the recent polls, and this site does that, I find it useful in that respect. It has a bunch of information.

I figure if Kerry looks okay on that site, he's probably doing better objectively speaking.

12. Don't Believe this poll
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 12:20 PM by orlin2k
I live in Las Vegas (which has more Democrats the Republicans) and they were talking about it on the local NPR station, this poll is very skewed. For example moral issues came in last, in a poll taken by the RJ in September, as the most important issues voter cited and now it is number two right under Iraq. Obviously they oversampled Christian Fundies. On good note early voting is showing more Dems showing up at the polls in LV.

18. Here we go again. Umpteenth time tonight. This like a bunch
of other states that suddenly seemed to go wacko compared to what has been reported lately because it's the damn Knight-Rider/Mason-Dixon Poll. There hasn't been this much swing in ALL these states. We were finally able here tonight to find out the root of all this crap and it's as I stated above. Discount it.
