1. And the dollar's weakening.

In the past, Bush has tried to keep the dollar in a tight range on the moderately weak side. If it gets to weak they dig up some ridiculous obscure statistic to prop it. But I read that it looks like they're not going to do that.

With only two weeks to go, I'm not sure what kind of impact that's going to have on his campaign. But if he thinks he's losing, it might be one of the time bombs he's leaving for Kerry.

3. The Dow has traded in the 10000-9000-8000 range for years now

A drop into the low 9000's wouldn't surprise me. I would love to know how anybody could be making any sort of return on their 401k investments if invested in stocks.
