I just spoke with my 70 year old Dad and he said he'd go with me in a heartbeat.

4. I'll go.
If it is tied up in the courts, we should have a vigil at the Supreme Court. A group should be there all the time, even if it takes weeks.

If they assign us * as a pResident again, we should be at the inauguration to protest. We should be there in very large numbers, so we are not ignored, like last time.

9. Agreed, not all of us should congregate in one place
there should be massive protests around the entire country.

When you hold up traffic in 20 big rush hour cities, you make more than 10 seconds on the Nightly News.

11. We'll be there! I want to make the scene in F9/11
(where eggs are thrown at Bush's car) look like a staid Sunday gathering. I don't advocate violence, but I will bring bullhorns and plenty of eggs and tomatos.

12. I've been banking my vacation time--I've got 6 weeks and several
thousand dollars saved up. This time the protest squads being bussed in will be ours--not Tom DeLay's!

ambush him in his sleep and slice his hair off.

A bald Ralph Nader would go nowhere in 2008.

25. I'd LOVE to be part of an event like that....but
I'm too crippled up and unable to travel like that. However, I'd be willing to DONATE a few bucks to help others!! :smoke:

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Besides, if Kerry wins, there's likely to be a serious backlash from the RWer's all over the country; in which case many of us would be "dealing" with it right in our communities. Yikes!

26. I wonder if some contingency plans should be considered...
Edited on Fri Oct-22-04 02:22 AM by DeepModem Mom
by MoveOn, for example, in cooperation with other groups, websites, etc. In fact, contingency plans should be considered by the Democratic National Committee. We cannot let it happen again. We cannot let the press get away with presenting a stolen election to the people as a cause for celebration because there were no tanks in the streets. I wouldn't want tanks in the streets, but I would want people in the streets, and would want it made crystal clear not only to the world but to the American people that another stolen election means our democracy is dead.

On edit: Trumad, do you have any ideas about how to start to plan for the possibility of another theft, beyond individuals demonstrating? Would you consider starting a separate thread for ideas about how to begin to formulate a contingency plan?
