Bush's "speeches" = slightly yelling talking points
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 02:01 PM by The Chronicler
He doesn't really 'give a speech' so to speak; it just consists of 4 or 5 word bits where he kind of slightly yells things. Anyone else agree? After watching Kerry, or someone like Clinton, who actually give speeches, and then seeing Bush--it's like night and day. Bush's "speeches" consist of bits of talking points strung together in no cognitive form or structure. Just spewing 4 or 5 word bits, then looking oddly at the audience, turn the page, another 4 or 5 word bit, crooked smile. Wash, rinse, repeat.

he does one word a second...and then flips the page..reads some more..makes sure he has his words right then stares blankly at the audience..waiting for a response..

2. He talks like he's a kindergarten teacher with
hearing problems. It's ridiculous. I can't stand him.

3. Kind of like that episode of Star Trek....

Where a Starfleet captain ends up the drugged puppet of the Nazi regime he installed on a pre-warp planet, violating the Prime Directive.

Bush is the drugged puppet in this scenario ;)

5. Excellent description of Smirk's Sound Bite Speeches
I honestly think his brain is so fried that he cannot speak more than 5 words at a time without referencing his Talking Point sound bites.

Many DUers have remarked about the noticeable deterioration in Bush's communication skills in the last 4 years and it is so true. I watched a clip of Smirk's 2000 primary debate with McCain (and other candidates) and though he has never been a good speaker he was vastly more fluid and articulate then than he is today.

Mark my words...there is a story here that Smirk's campaign is bottling up and which we will find out sooner or LATER.

Where is the media on this?

6. It's very disturbing
He did the same thing during the STOTU speech. When he got to the "Saddam has recently....." line he really tries to sell it and looks back down at his notes as if to say " it must be true it's written right here and this danged paper."

10. It's so true. Because of "Einstein"
I put my TV away in the garage. I just couldn't STAND to look at him. There's just something so obnoxious about the man that I used to go from 0 to 60 in 2 seconds flat. Just pure rage.

Of course, that's the reason why I surfed on a wave of anger and ended up here at the DU. Now, I get my news from the Internet & Air America Radio.

Even now, when I occasionally hear his voice suddenly come on the radio, my trembling hand reaches out to get rid of him QUICK. Turn the channel. Anything.

If he only knew the reaction he elicits in people, he would be amazed. Maybe not, come to think of it.
