A little victory. . . .
Went to the grocery store (Food Lion, ugh!) in Hillsborough, NC this afternoon with my Kerry/Edwards buttons on--one on my backpack and one on my jacket. An older, conservative-looking woman said she liked my buttons. I offered her one, but she thanked me and said she already had one at home. Then, as I was checking out (with 2 dozen cupcakes!) the young woman at the register asked where she could get a button. I took mine off and gave it to her and she put it right on her Food Lion polo shirt. Said she's voting for the first time and is really excited. . . . I just hope they'll let her wear it. . . . Told her she'd made my day!

Here in small-town NC, in the Food Lion no less, one older white woman and one young African American woman in the span of about ten minutes. Felt pretty good!

2. yep! Don't ask me why. . .
I hate going there--it has that nasty walmart/repug feel to it-- but we desparately needed birthday cupcakes for school tomorrow!

3. Just Down The Road From You
I work right down the road from you at Adam & Eve. Took a bunch of John Kerry bumper stickers and put them outside my office door this morning. They were ALL GONE by lunch!

North Carolina is going to surprize everyone on Nov. 2nd!

6. I work on Churton Street. . .
In the Mercantile Building next to James Pharmacy. . . . I give somebody a pin nearly every day on the street. . . .

If you go down King St toward the Village Diner, you see a zillion Kerry yard signs! (that's only a slight exaggeration!)

I'm sure all of this is so interesting to other folks on the board, so I'll shut up now!

9. Durham, NC COVERED in Kerry Signs
Durham is virtually covered in Kerry/Edwards signs. I've never seen so many political signs in my lifetime - even from some of the nastiest Jesse Helms elections. In my neighborhood I've only seen 2 Bush signs up. I'm going to soooo enjoy going to the polls on election day!

12. Thanks for the welcome..
That's the first I've received! Been reading here for along time but finally registered and began posting because of the Sinclair outrage. (I used to work in television).

Gallup, Zogby, etc., can say what they want, but this election will come down to people: Neighbors talking to neighbors about the importance of voting for Kerry.

Way to go, ncgrits!
