9. Bernard Kerik who teamed with Giuliani to study "safety" of imported drugs

(Link no longer works, but it is real)

Bernard Kerik, Kerik-Kerik, LLC

First, I would like to thank the task force for the invitation and the opportunity to make these brief remarks. The purpose of me being here today is to advise the task force that the former Mayor of the City of New York,Rudolph Giuliani and Partners has been retained to conduct an independent review of the safety issues related to the wholesale importation of medicines from outside the U.S.  (Paid for by us taxpayers)

As many of you know, I am the former Police Commissioner for the City of New York and as of recently was a senior advisor for the Minister of Interior for Iraq and a senior advisory to Ambassador Bremmer on the reconstitution of Iraq’s interior ministry. (Kerik skipped out early) Today, I’m the CEO of Kerik-Kerik, and l'll be working with the Mayor on this review.

The review includes documentation, site reviews, and we are making every effort to speak to people and groups on both sides of the issue, including those who support it as well as those who oppose the importation. Although the review will be on-going over the next few months, we anticipate having some preliminary findings this month, and we would be anxious to share them with the task force, as well as others. We are quite concerned about the growing support for wholesale importation of drugs or the purchase of medicines over the Internet when there are clearly so many unanswered questions regarding the safety of such practices. There are many risks to the health and safety of Americans with respect to the importation of drugs from outside this country.

I wish someone in the town hall would ask Bernard "cashin' in on 9/11" Kerik about his "study" and what conclusions he and Rudi came to regarding the safety of importing drugs from Canada.

Wasn't planning to watch Zahn's townhall, but now can't wait to see Wes Clark in action!

8. Hope that Ohio voters....
will be watching. Just a few short sentences from Wes on National Security should clearly illustrate that Bush is not a strong and resolute leader. 9/11 occurred on Bush's watch....a point that Clark raised just a day ago in Pennsylvania...stating that although no one wants to say it......9/11 didn't have to happen. This General is BOLD.....but he speaks the truth no one else wants to say!

Bernie: Thank God Bush was president on Sept. 11....blah, blah.....

Wes: Bernie, you mean you wouldn't trade George Bush for a president who had READ the Hart-Rudman Report on Global Terror that was given him in Jan, 2001, and acted on its urgent proposals for Homeland Security?
