1. Wasn't that original poll cited
done in October? It's a bit of a gap to draw any real trend conclusions but a nice recent showing for Gov Dean.

Dean has one of the strongest grassroots bases in New York
and that's what we're seeing here. New Yorkers love Dean, even taxi drivers I've talked to.

2. Wasn't there supposed to be
some big Dean endorsement out of NY this week? Or was that just a rumor?

4. It was me
The much sought-after endorsement of a prominent figure in New York City was that of me, LittleDannySlowhorse. I announced it to my wife on Monday so it would get maximum press exposure.

3. Dupe Thread. Here's my earlier comment:
Here is the original thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=111907

Here is the post I made on that thread:

"By the time NY votes the field will be smaller

By early March several of the current candidates will either have officially withdrawn, or their support will have evaporated based on poor showings in earlier primaries. I doubt Lieberman will remain viable, for example. Edwards, Kerry and Gephardt will not all be considered viable either, at least one or two of them will be knocked out by then. With 74% of voters out side of Dean's camp, NY is still wide open until we see how those voters realign in a smaller field."

Having said that, it is always better to be in front than behind.

6. P.S.
I live in upstate NY and am an active Clark supporter. People are responding very well to him. It hurts that he entered the race late. A lot of voter education is ongoing, but when voters learn about Clark here, they tend to support him.

7. Not exactly a dupe thread
It's not entirely a dupe because that thread didn't do the comparison to the previous numbers. I find it very interesting that the number of undecideds increased. I wonder if that's accurate or just fluctuation due to the MOE. Still, 26% undecided is still pretty large.
