1. I'm still an ABB, but I'd be proud to have Kerry as my President
I think he'll do fine. But I would still vote for a monkey (trained or otherwise) before I'd vote for Bush, and if you threw a couple more candidates on the ballot, I might have to vote for one of them (assuming perfect world run-offs, etc.)... preferably someone who didn't go out killing ducks.

15. You've been through the fire with JK,
all those times when his candidacy was regarded as doomed, when it didn't seem like he stood a chance. I respect your dedication to this good man. :yourock:

20. same here
The debates really changed my mind, and made me see Kerry as an excellent candidate in his own right. I'd had flashes of this earlier, just a phrase or two that made me like him, but the debates showed the whole package.

Kerry fan! :D

I believe he's the best man for our party, and the best presidential candidate this country has seen since another JFK from Boston ran 44 years ago. ;)

5. I was using the Primary to decide
I liked Edwards and I like a little about Deans charisma. But I also liked what I saw from Kerry as well.
Any one of those three would have worked for me.
I think the reason Dean was squashed was because they new they did not stand a chance with him.
When Kerry put Edwards on the ticket it was perfect.

12. I was an ABBer to begin with..
but Kerry has really gotten to me. Now I can say that I get the "warm fuzzies" at certain moments. When a dog is giving him kisses after a hunt, or when he cracks a great joke on the pitcher's mound..

So yeah.. I like him much more now.

not hearing the policies from him that I would like to. He's so far away on the spectrum from me on most things.

Yet, I harbor a tiny hope that he is running to the middle but will govern from the left. So we shall see whether or not I am a Kerryit in '08. ;)

26. Depends on what kind of Congress he gets.
Unless he intends to govern by executive order, he needs enough Dems and moderate Republicans to push through a liberal agenda. If he's stuck with a Republican Congress, I don't see how he can successfully govern from the left.

32. AFD
Always For Democrats

Straight down the ballot. These damn non-partisan races piss me off because I actually have to evaluate instead of looking for the D.

At the presidential level I handicap electability and it seemed clear our best bet was Edwards, particularly vs. an incumbent who is considered likeable. But I've been 100% Kerry since his nomination was inevitable.

Bush has literally altered my life. My family members, friends and girls I've dated all say I'm obsessed with despising him and getting him out of office. I know I'm not joking around or having as much fun or peace of mind as during the Clinton years. So yeah, there's runaway ABB.

33. I used to be a staunch Deaniac (still am in fact)
I hated John Kerry during the primaries, but after it became clear that Howard Dean would lose, I started to support John Edwards. After John Kerry became the de facto winner of the primaries, I was somewhat bitter. But later, he won me over by picking John Edwards. So, this former ABBer is now a firm Kerryite.

34. if it were an election featuring kerry and, say, a non-sold-out
mccain, then i might still be undecided at this point. as it is, on a scale of 1 to 10, as a candidate i'd give kerry about a 7. and i'd give shrub a -93.

kerry = solid, * = enormous flaming disaster

38. ABB
I'm still bitter about what happened to Howard Dean in the primaries. Deep down I know that he would have CRUSHED Bush with a true anti-war in Iraq message, and we would not have heard all this flip-flop garbage. I know republicans feared Dean, but maybe they are underestimating Kerry?

He went to war and was lucky enough to survive and voice his opinion. I hope that thirty years from now an Iraqi vet isn't being muddied by the same party. Kerry is the right man for this time and predicament.

before the 1st debate I was an ABBer who thought it was a good idea to nominate the guy who served in Vietnam--best chance to win in a time of war.

After the 1st debate, I became a die-hard Kerryite. He deserves to be President!

John Kerry --> :yourock:
