1. So he's having another mood swing huh?
Or another one of his schizophrenic moments. My guess is that he'll be back on the B/C bandwagon any moment now. But at least he got one thing right this week.

2. But is Ron Silver on his Panel?
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 06:10 PM by Jack_Dawson
When he's there, I erase my TiVo and take a shower. Certain people I can't stand for more than 5 seconds.

Ron Silver
Sean Hannity
Dr. Laura

If I'm missing anyone please let me know.

They list him as MSNBC Consultant. . .sickening, isn't it?

(My guess is that they had to hire somebody because the Bush-bots won't talk to Tweety directly anymore since Malkin and Zell Miller blowouts)

7. Tweetie is bipolar.
He will take a different combo of meds--and then say that Bush is up by 2. I haven't watched him in months and I don't miss him at all.

Tonight, I will be tuning in to C-Span to see Barack Obama kick a crazy man's ass! It should be great fun. I may even tape it to show to freepers---I can embarass them by saying things like--do you agree with YOUR Republican candidate for Senate--about abortion being "infanticide"? etc

Great fun I am looking forward to tonight!!!

because she's trapped into the decision...

But then he has to deal with the fact that mature thirty, forty year old women have abortions..

The death penalty and abortion are the most difficult moral and political decisions to make...

30. Yep. I'd give him that. Tweet's a whore, but he's the best
of these "shouting pundits". Tweety has a talent that goes beyond the average shoutfest. He is an original.

Matthews' analysis is usually smart and relevant, even if I don't agree with it. He knows exactly how to trap people -like a tough prosecutor doing a cross examination. Other pundits don't go as far as he does, or do it as artfully. Most of these other shows such as Crossfire and Hannity are scripted, and simply imitations of Matthews' style, IMO.

18. If Matthews was a woman, can you imagine the stuff they would be
saying about "her"??? There would be the "dumb blonde bimbo" dismissive remarks. She would be rediculed for PMS mood swings. It would be suggested that she seek professonal help. But as a man, they pay him an ungodly amount of money to shoot spittal at the camera and act like he actually can analyze politics.

23. Tweety says whatever helps drive the drama
It's like watching Survivor. You know that Mark Burnett is somewhat artificially creating a narrative where little may really exist. But it's fun to watch, so we buy into it.

But when Tweety does this with each candidate's electoral outlook, it becomes something different. By Matthews jockeying all over the map, he is able to represent himself as a fair moderator, and also help keep the tension high for election night, which General Electric (oops, sorry) MSNBC has invested a lot of dough in. Of course, Matthews doesn't care that in the process he is actually swaying voters. He's only in it for the false drama.

What was it that Jon Stewart accused Crossfire of? Political theater. Never truer than in the case of GE's upcoming election night coverage.

44. Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The hotbed of reactionary conservatism itself.

Fortunately, I now study at the University of Toronto. Don't get me wrong, most of Colorado is absolutely great, but the attitude around the Springs is very conservative. Not to mention that the city's supposedly beautiful surroundings pale in comparison to those of many other places in the state.
