three words that exemplify smirky's Christian values: "Don't kill me" accompanied by a giggle, when asked what Karla Faye Tucker said to him before he had her exectuted.

31. If you actually read that article...
the article is very much in favor of Kerry:

# Seek the Common Good: Kerry’s approach to Social Security, Medicare, education, and diplomacy all embrace a society in which we watch our neighbor’s back--we are in this together. He cares about the 5 billion of God’s children who live beyond America’s borders and the moral call of a common humanity.
# Protect the Vulnerable and Care for the Poor: Perhaps no Biblical charge is clearer than caring for ‘the least among us.’ Kerry has developed the most innovative health care plan of our lifetime, a college tuition plan with real teeth, a solid commitment to Medicare, and an expansion of America’s fight against global HIV/AIDS. He has spent over two decades demanding a balanced budget, so that we do not pass our mistakes onto future generations just because they cannot vote today.
# Ensure Stewardship of Creation: The morality of our times will be judged according to what we leave to our children. Kerry has the best environmental voting record in the Senate.

27. why bother?
Who wants to be the Christian candidate? If a candidate even mentioned religion in another country they would lose. Why are we playing *'s game? Kerry should say that fundamentalist Christians are leading us down a path of destruction with their wetdreams of the rapture. I don;t want anything to do with those idiots!

29. Here is a test for Christians
What did Jesus most often talk about?

1) The importance of tax cuts to stimulate the economy

2) The necessity of defending your country using preemptive military action

3) The importance of controlling excessive litigation to control medical costs.

4) Helping the poor.

37. While voting in the poll at BeliefNet, I found an excellent article

about John Kerry's faith, plus articles explaining why Catholics can vote for Kerry (and opinions of those who think we shouldn't) and explaining the facts of the controversy over Communion.

Worth reading if it interests you or if you find yourself having to defend Kerry against accusations that he's not a Christian, or Dubya is a better Christian (as if!)
