2. Where were you standing?
Were you in the Gold Ticket "Republican seats"? Or the pit between the crowd and the stage?

3. I had a gold ticket
The local Kerry campaign coordinator got gold tickets for people who have been volunteering for the campaign on a regular basis.

We actually were behind the stage along the rail bordering the walkway by which everyone entered and exited. Not the best view for the speeches, but I got to shake Kerry's hand twice! I had my teenage son with me and he also got to shake Kerry's hand, Teresa's and Bon Jovi's. He was really thrilled by the whole experience.

We were in line for almost 4 hours before we got in, but met a lot of really neat people. We spoke with a life-long Republican WWII vet who was voting for Kerry, to wives of soldiers serving in Iraq, and we were interviewed by a reporter from a college newspaper who was being shipped back to Iraq in 2 weeks.

Kerry spoke with the Cathedral of Learning, the landmark building of the University of Pittsburgh (my alma mater) as a backdrop. He gave a great speech, which I could not help but compare with Bush's pathetic scripted appearances.

We have got to get Kerry elected. I don't think our country can endure another 4 years of *.
