5. That is a GOOD article, though |
|
No one opposed to the war or supportive of Kerry is interviewed in the film.
No historians are questioned about the documentary's premise...
The writer seems to think Kerry himself practically started VVAW, but other than that... good article.

9. Yes - it rebuts the worst of the Sinclair nonsense |
|
<snip>
Kerry never accused the POWs of committing war crimes and spoke only in general about the conduct of U.S. troops. The film also falsely implies that Kerry either committed atrocities himself or personally witnessed them. Kerry told Congress he was summarizing accusations made by other servicemen at an earlier event, and not relaying personal experiences.

15. And anyone who knows VVAW knows that he didn't |
|
And they also know he left when VVAW started getting a little too far out.
Amazing how lazy people are, and they pass as journalists. Christ, the fact-checking was more rigorous BEFORE the internet...and that can only mean that these bozos are just LAZY....or they have an agenda.

6. Thats it for Sinclair boys and girls.... |
|
....And lets not forget that after November 2nd. Boycott this network today, tomorrow, and five years from now. Boycott any company that advertises with them today, tomorrow, and five years from now. Companies that say, "we've requested to not adverstise with them 2 hours or 2 hours after the show", boycott them. Thats not good enough. The only tool we have is the economic tool. Its unimganeable that corporations are willing to lose large segments of their market. We need to declare war on this group and those who fuel them, they just did on us.
When you go to the super market, take your list. Check it twice, find out who's been naughty or nice. Then fight back with your wallet.
Lets work to knock the value of this company down the drain, and to get into the profit shares of the others.

Got the list printed up and in my wallet. I think alot of other democrats have long payback in mind too. How many car purchases lost, or boxes of cereal not purchased, twelve packs of Pepsi, or KFC meals not handed out a window will it take to show a regrettable affect.
Not that many, and there are 75 million plus democrats.

It's the first FAIR article on the Sinclair crap.
I wrote to the AP (info@ap.org) to commend David Caruso for writing it! It's about time!
And thanks, schoolteacherpam, for posting it!

8. Its not like Kerry delayed the North Vietnamese surrender |
|
and Kerry delayed the US imposing unconditional conditions for North Vietnam's surrender.
Fact is, the US got it's ass kicked by North Vietnam and Kerry had nothing to do with that.

16. SINclair getting SUED by director of "Going Upriver" |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 09:14 PM by npincus
ha ha http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=584&ncid=584&e=2&u=/nm/20041021/pl_nm/media_sinclair_dcThe director of a documentary about John Kerry's Vietnam service sued Sinclair Broadcast Group on Thursday, accusing it of illegally copying his photographs in a controversial anti-Kerry movie it plans to air portions of this week<snip> The suit, filed in Manhattan federal court, seeks unspecified damages and an order barring Sinclair and film distributors from selling or showing the movie containing copyrighted photographs and film footage.
Butler directed the documentary "Going Upriver: the Long War of John Kerry," which chronicles the circumstances leading to Kerry's Vietnam service, and his protest against the war after he returned home, having received the Silver Star and three Purple Hearts.
Butler and Swift Boat Film, which he manages, charge Sinclair wrongfully copied photographs used in "Going Upriver." The suit also accuses Sinclair of using film footage that had been licensed to Swift Boat by Winter Film, which made the 1971 documentary "Winter Soldier."
