Anyone hear of the latest Republican trickery in Fla.? |
|
A local Central Florida news station broke a story yesterday that is about to cause an investigation to be launched by state officials. They did a follow-up report this evening. Apparently, a California based organization that has done "work" for the GOP in the past, AND has been investigated for questionable practices showed up on UCF campus asking students to sign a "petition" to help fight violence against women. Then, the signers were asked to fill out another paper and were given some bogus explanation as to why additional information was needed. Low and behold... next thing they know... after originally being registered Democrats in their home county they are now registered REPUBLICANS in the county of the school campus. The worst part is...they now have dual registrations which, if uncorrected in advance would disqualify them from voting on election day. They believe this has happened on other Florida university campuses as well. Obviously, there is no depth too low for these sleazy, desperate scum-bags to sink to.

3. Yeah, I heard this on the local news yesterday. |
|
It's good this is being reported so that people are aware of the voting fraud that is happening. I saw Jeb making a statement about it and trying to pretend like he doesn't condone this sort of thing.

On the TV report they mentioned the dual enrollment thing possibly disqualifying their vote.

primary and therefore one's party choice should not come into this at all. If they want to challenge them at a primary vote, fine. This is just a way to entrap and eliminate voters. These scum loath democracy and then want us to get all teary eyed that we are "bringing it to Iraq".......bullshit.

9. That doesn't sound right |
|
So what if you are registered in two places? How would anyone ever find out? do you really think there is any kind of cross-checking? Get real. Suppose you move from one state to another. you register in your new state but you are not required to inform your former state that you need to be taken off the voter registration roll. Hell, you could probably even vote in both places and nobody would ever find out. scary thought.

12. These students need to vote early in Florida. |
|
I voted yesterday, and we really need to encourage all to vote early. That way if it turns out that there is a problem, you can get it corrected before voting ends on Nov. 2. I have no doubt that the Rethuglicans will try to steal Florida for Bush again, so we must fight back, NOW!

person votes only once on election day the fact that they may be registered in two different jurisdictions will not be a problem.
